What are the consequences of not getting RN license renewed on time?

Published

I had my license suspended after practicing for more than 25 years after working at the worst place in my career in my home town of Memphis Tennessee and I had my license suspended in 2023 and have not worked as a nurse since then and I am trying to survive on social security and I get just enough money to survive and would love to return to nursing soon but can't afford to get my license renewed at this time and the time ends on August 31st  of this year,  what are the consequences of not getting renewed on time.

If you can't renew, you will not be licensed to work as a nurse and will not be able to get back into the field. If a nursing job is your plan, you will need to find a way to renew the license; otherwise, you will need another plan.

I cannot imagine anywhere that would hire you without a license. They would endanger their Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and set themselves up for both civil and criminal penalties. Not only will you need a license, but you will also need proof of continuing education.
