What other careers did you consider before choosing nursing

What other careers did you consider and why did you go for nursing? Did you think you would be happier in another profession, but ended up liking nursing?

Back in the early 90s, I wanted to be a travel agent ...but they are close to obsolete at this point. I also wanted to be (and informally was) a veterinary technician, but that's typically not a good-paying job.

I am happy as a nurse- mostly because I'm better off financially than I ever have been. Conditions are not always super-ideal, but they're tolerable as long as I have money to count when I go home.

I was in school as an art major before I switched and went into nursing. I wanted to be a photo journalist.

Then came an unexpected present in the form of a child, You can't take a baby around the world... so I looked up something I could do rather quickly to make a living, I went to vocational school to become an LPN.

It took a while to find the niche and what I loved about nursing, but most days I'm happy that this is where I landed.
