What can you say about Filipino Nurses working abroad? :)(Please be very objective, focus on their performance in the clinical area and their attitude towards work).

Can you be more specific as to what you are looking for and what you are going to use the responses for?
Looks like research for something.

I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of nurses from the Philippines, and some of them are outstanding nurses. They were taught well and they're very task oriented. They bring a lot of knowledge to the table, and I can praise so many of them for their hard work.
However, on the other hand, I've met (not at my current place of employment THANK GOD) some very incompetent nurses from the Philippines. Their education in nursing and experience is very questionable.
But I want to stress that I've met some incompetent US educated nurses and wonder how they passed nursing. You're going to find that in every ethnic background of nurses. So we have to be fair and say that you will find incompetent, and outstanding nurses from all different countries.

i think you're right! we should not generalize!*********************Well, the OP is asking for generalized comments about Filipino nurses, so you shouldn't get all in a tizzy about generalized responses! LOLMy opinion is that the Philippines used to train good nurses. Many recent graduates do not have the basic clinical skills that a new nurse should have. They do not have the same level of clinical knowledge that new nurses from the US have. Many do not have the ability to make sound nursing judgements.Filipinos used to say that they train "the best nurses in the world," but obviously that is no longer true (if it ever was!)It really is a shame that the quality of nursing education has declined so dramatically in the past several years. The increasing number of low-quality nursing schools producing poorly-trained nurses has damaged the reputation of Filipino nurses in general. It's really sad...
