When we go to the test center to take concept1-7, what can we bring with us ? Is a caculator permitted? Water ? Paper and pencil to calculate?
How about the enviorment of the test room? Everyone sits in front of the computer starting at the same time? Or perhaps people have different starting time ? I never take a computer exam before. So I really want to know how it is going?
Thank you for the reply in advance.

You go to the desk and tell them who you are. They will want your photo id and the authorization to test. They will take your picture, and give you a locker. The only thing you are allowed to take into the test room is your photo ID, the key to your locker and sweater or jacket. They provide either paper and pencil or a white board for you to write on. They also provide a calculator-either an actual or one on the computer. You can leave the room to potty or get a drink, but you need to sign in and out and have your photo id to get back in.
When you get there people will already be testing unless your are one of the first appointments of the day. They tell you what computer to go to and what to do when you get there. When your computer starts it will give your name and the test you are taking for verification. It will also give you an optional tutorial so you know how to operate the program and take your test. If you have any problems with the computer you can raise your hand or go to the desk
If you are more then 30 minutes late they can refuse to give you the test. If you are early they can let you start early if there is a computer available.
The first one is the hardest:)
Good luck!!

Thank you so much for the detailed explaination. It is very clear now.But what's the meaning of your last sentence? You mean the concept 1 is the hardest ?
So people start at different time, will it cause interfernce for one's exam? Maybe due to the noise enviroment as people go in and out?

I won't speak for Will, but I think some people do find that NC1 is a challenge, simply because you've just started and you don't know exactly what to expect.
When you arrive for your exam, you'll likely discover that there are people taking all sorts of exams, not just for Excelsior. So there may be people entering or exiting the room, but they should be quiet about it. The testing center may provide ear plugs or headphones, but for me, those are more of a distraction than anything else.

Willtm is exactly right. I brought a calculator and it was refused. There was one provided. Everything must come out of your pockets and into the locker. You will sit there with the locker key and your ID. When I went recently, there were MD students taking a neuro test. The only sound in the room was the sound of the door being opened occasionally. You are given ear plugs if you want them. Good luck!
Got it. Thank all of you.

Good Luck!!
Actually, I meant the first test--as in the first step:) It's new, you don't really know what to expect, so which ever test you are taking first is the hardest. As far as tests go, I thought nc 5 was the hardest, but I still got an A.
