Morbid obesity and high carb diet?
I'm not sure, just took note of the high carb diet ordered and stopped reading. I should mention that this is a fictional pt in one of my books and no other information is available. But why a high carb diet? Thanks...

Morbid obesity and high carb diet?
Why would a morbidly obese patient be put on a high carbohydrate diet? I would think the opposite. This pt was admitted for cellulitis of the right lower leg. Why a high carb diet? Thanks...

Who else out there is preparing for CPNE? Or just pass it?
I just got the study guide "book" last week and have been looking through it a little. I still have that literacy class to pass, and I'll do that this week. Then nothing left but the CPNE.

CPNE Workshop
Just wondering why there is a workshop in Cali when we can't practice there unless you have previous RN experience. Who's her local clients she speaks of?

Do I still need to buy text books after purchasing College Network Study Guide?
Not sure what she is talking about but the TCN guides seem to be very good to me. I am on NC2 and after reading a topic, I went back and skimmed through the chapters they said to review, and I would have to say TCN hit almost every topic. I would recommend them, but buy them off ebay!

EMT-BASIC to RN?
I'm a medic in the excelsior program, and my advice is to get your LPN then RN, not medic then RN. If you get your LPN and get a job, they may help pay for the program. Also if you are an LPN, you can skip to NC3. Good luck! By the way, when I graduated paramedic school, I realize now how green I was. You don't know anything when you graduate medic school. I have 8 years as a medic now on a fire department and I work in an ER as a medic too, and I get reminded everyday how much I don't know. I'm on NC2 now, and although 90% of the information I've seen before, you have to know and understand it as well as apply it, which I never really had to do. Good luck...

NCLEX Review books
I'll definately have to get that one then. Thanks!

NCLEX Review books
I do take the practice tests, and I agree that they are a big help. I was looking for a NCLEX review book that will go over the individual sections as on the NC study guides. For example, an acid-base balance section that will give me a review on acid-base balance and have NCLEX type questions with it.

NCLEX Review books
I am going to take NC2 in a few weeks, and I was wondering what NCLEX review books most closely resemble the type of questions I'll see on the Nursing Concept tests. If you have an opinion about any of the review books, please let me know. They are about $40 dollars each, and some are in plastic and so I can't look in them to see for myself. Thanks!

marks of practice exam
2 weeks ago I took NC1 where I scored a 77%. Practice test A I also got a 77%, practice test B, 82%. So, they are pretty accurate to what you will do on the real thing.

Anyone use Excelsior in Ohio??
The first test I bought all the books for and went through the EC study guide. I got a C, and it took a while to go through the books. This time, I spent $36 and bought the college network NC2 study guide on ebay. I'm still going to go through the books, but just skim them, I'll use the network study guide as my primary source of studying.

Anyone use Excelsior in Ohio??
I'm in northeast ohio and am currently enrolled. I only have to take the nursing courses since I took everything else at a local college. I just finished NC1, and am having a little trouble with study motivation right now, but I plan on taking NC2 at the end of next month. Good luck!
