  1. I, too, am in Northwestern Ohio. I am planning to contact EC this week to see how I can get started. I'm pretty certain I will only need the Nursing portion since I have also taken all others at local college. I guess I can verify all that with EC. Thanks to all who've replied. Does anyone think it's beneficial to buy used books online (even those condensed guides such as college network, etc.)? Or, does EC material give you all the info you need?
  2. Thanks moodychick! All information is helpful. So did you just contact Excelsior and deal right with them or did you go with a publishing company (college network, etc.)? I was told by college network that all my credits satisfy the general courses (of course I'll have to verify that with EC). I just met with college network for an information session but didn't sign with them yet. I wanted to do a little research first to see if I even need their help. Thanks
  3. I was wondering if anyone out there has done the Excelsior in Ohio or are currently enrolled. Does the state have restrictions like other states? I am trying to decide if I should do the EC program. I'm very self motivated and learn great as a solo learner. I would just like some additional info/advice.
  4. I'm New To This Website. I'm An Lpn Wanting To Get My Rn. I've Completed All The Prereqs That Satisfy Excelsior As Well As Our Local College. Problem - Waiting List For Community College Or Jump Into Excelsior. I Don't Know Anyone Who Has Taken Excelsior. It Would Be Nice To Do It On My Own Time. I'm A Motivated Person And Do Well As A Solo Learner. However, I've Heard Negative Comments About The Fail Rate Of Excelsiors Clinical Portion And That Alot Of States Are Turning Away From The Program. I Would Love To Get Some Feedback From Those Who've Taken Excelsior Or Are Currently Enrolled. I Am Confused. Spoke To College Network. They Informed Me That All My Credits Will Transfer, Leaving Me To Take The Nursing Classes. Please Help!
  5. I'm An Lpn Working In Ltc. I've Completed All My Prereq's At Our Local College But Now Have To Wait To Get Into Transition Until Next Year. Thinking About Excelsior. I'm A Good Test Taker/solo Learner But I'm Also Not Sure About Excelsior. I Met With College Network. I Was Advised I Would Only Need To Take The Nursing Portion (all My Prereqs Tranfer). I Don't Know Anyone Who Has Went Through Excelsior And Hear Alot Of Negative Feedback About The Fail Rate Of The Clinical Portion And How Alot Of States Aren't Wanting To Recognize The Program Anymore. I Would Love It If Someone Would Reply To This, Expecially Someone In The Program Or Has Completed It. How Long Does It Take For The Nursing Portion To Be Completed? Thanks To All! This Is My First Time On Here So I Apologize If I Didn't List This In The Right Area. Hope To Hear From Someone Soon!
