What are the Best Urgent Care NP Residencies?

I am a current FNP student, and would like to enter a NP residency after I graduate before I work independently. What are your recommendations for a NP residency, especially in Urgent Care? I live in Southern California, but am willing to relocate if necessary. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, however, this is for RN, not NP, residencies which I am looking for.

In general, most urgent care positions require 1-2 years of primary care experience. However, some large hospitals that also have urgent care will hire new grad NPs and train them, but it may not be a formal residency. Oroville Hospital, near Chico, was doing that. So, I suggest you research hospitals that have urgent care facilities and just look at each one and apply to the ones that meet your criteria.

Another option is if you work in an underserved area, like a small town or rural area, primary clinics often do a lot of urgent care. I was working in a rural FQHC east of Redding, and about 50% of my appointments were actually urgent care. The clinic also ran an after hours and Saturday de-facto urgent care clinic. This is because there is no actual Urgent Care in our area. A job like this would be great training for your first 1-2 years and then you could move into full time Urgent Care.
