Okay, so I've got my commissioning done, COT date and assignment set, now I'm trying to figure out this deployment thing. My sponsor says nurses are pretty much deployed to Bagram AFB hospital for 6 months. What is the facility like? How big is the ICU? What kind of patients are there? Will I spend all my time at the actual hospital or be further deployed to a remote location from there? I just like to know to what I'm getting myself into and am researching as much as I can, thanks for any imput.

Sharing specifics about those types of locations is a violation of OPSEC. I know, it seems like a little thing, but it's not. But I think unless you're attached to something like a Forward Surgical Team (I don't know if there is an AF equivalent), you'll probably stay right there. Bagram has a lot of "amenities," I don't know what else to call them. lol. It won't be nearly as bad as other locations.
