I just need to vent, this week has really stunk!!!!
Monday started it all. Worked until sunday night at 2300, went home to bed, 4am monday rolls around and I am awoken by nausea with vomiting and well you know what following it... I am sure a patient gave me this stupid stomache virus.
Ok tuesday, starts off ok, stomache is feeling better, I am starting to eat popsicles, and they are even staying in my belly. Well luckily I decided I felt better enough to attmept some christmas shopping... So I decide to switch my stuff from my work bag to my purse, hmmm credit card is missing. uh oh... so I look and look, called work to see if anyone found it. Nope. Call the credit card company, and soon after I let them know my credit card was lost or stolen, they ask me if I spent $344.88 at a CVS. Uh I say noo, who the heck spends that much money at CVS?! Well I now have the answer to that, it is someone who steals someone elses credit card. Personally I would have taken it to Best Buy. On a good note I am not responsible for the charges. So tuesday is now taken over by my slight anger that I lost my credit card at the hospital where I work and either a co-worker, patient, or patient family member stole it. Lovely. So I call the CVS where the credit card was used, and hey they have the person on camara. I am told by the manager that the police have to be involved for me to look at the footage. So I drive to the police station to file the report, but since it was stolen in one city and used in another I have to deal with two PD's instead of one... so now I wait for the detective to call me.. still waiting... and waiting...
So here it is wensday... Stomache is better, I have graduated to solids. So far the day is good... still waiting for that detective to call me. Oh and the phone rings, nope not the detective, but it is Children's Hospital where I have alwasys wanted to work as an ER nurse. I had already had the interview and shadowed the week before. The converstation starts out as ***** the nurse manager wants to hire you (so my eyes get big, big smile thinking my bad luck has changed), but that sentence is quickly followed by but she had to cancel the position ( Never heard of a position getting canceled, especially for a staff nurse). I did hear they were having some hiring freezes, apparently this must be true. Stupid me for not listing to the new grad I am precepting, who told me this before i even applied. To add to the day we just got dumped with about 4 inches of snow, I hate snow, and we are getting another 6-10 on friday... oh boy... And here I sit waiting for that detective to call... and for my luck to change.
Thanks for listening (or I guess in this case reading). I can't immagine what will happen tommorow, I am working, so I'll probaby get the grandma with explosive diarrhea and vomiting that occures every five minutes, and just for caring for her I'll have explosive diarrhea and vomiting two days later.
I hope you are feeling better and that work is going well today. I also pray they catch the thief who stole your credit card. That's infuriating. Hugs.

Thank you all for your kind words... luckily I did not get an old lady with explosive diarrhea and, knock on wood, nothing else bad happened. So its on to a new week with happier thoughts.
