WGU RN-MSN Leadership & Management

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

I am starting the RN-MSN program on June 1st. I have 64 CU's to complete. Is this doable in a year to two years? I know that is considerably shorter than other schools, that's why I am feeling as if it is too good to be true.

If anyone has any study advice, that would be much appreciated too! I have joined the facebook group, and have heard that quizlet is good help (which was a life saver for me during nursing school).

Thanks in advance!

At a slow pace, or 12 credits per term you would finish in 5 terms. A lot of students are able to go a bit quicker than that in the first few semesters when its BSN stuff. The MSN courses seem to take longer and are more involved. So it depends on how fast you move, how much time for school, and how much work/family time you would like to have. My first term I completed 21 cus and I did not really rush like some others. This term I am moving slower, but taking more vacations and stuff.

Two years is very possible. Les than that if you are highly motivated and have the time to devote to it.

I started this program in May 2015. I just finished my coursework for the BSN portion, so it took me just over 2 semesters. I will finish the MSN in 2 semesters, so it will take me 2 years total. I have moved at a slower pace than I hoped, but I have been working 4 shifts a week the entire time and I've been exhausted.
