Hello fellow nurses!
I'm quickly approaching my start date....school again, after 17+ years! I'm super excited and a bit nervous of course. Any current or recent students have any helpful advice to throw my way? I know there's the new intro class & biochem format. I also have to take good 'ol statistics, which will be a first for me. I'm hoping to finish my BSN in 1 year (2 terms), and I believe I have 43 credits. Thanks for any feedback or advice!

It has been a few years since I did my BSN with WGU (2011), but I don't think it has changed too much. It's still competency based, so if you know the material already, you can zip through the classes. I did mine in 6 months. Follow the rubrics exactly, and you'll do just fine. They have a good library you can access online. Use your mentor, that's why they are there.

Hello! I have a start date of Dec. 1, 2017 after 13+ years, so in a similar situation as you. I also am curious about feedback/advice! :)
Oh that's great! My first official classmate!

I graduated in March 2017 (RN to BSN) from WGU. I was a 38 year ADN. I completed it in 11 months. I found the cohorts very helpful. Each class has a link if you want to participate. The program PERRLA is great for formatting your papers. Good Luck!ðŸ‘

Hi there! I will be with you! Starting December 2017 as well. I graduated with my ASN in 2012. I actually am a readmission. I failed miserably before with WGU but my life was a bit different so this time should be much different. I did just read that they changed Biochem to Competwncy so you can just take the test instead of doing tasks and making models. That and the 8 live web classes you have to attend at a specified time for another class. Unsure which it is. I'm accepted and paid up but have no access to anything and haven't talked to any one yet. They had a cool orientation last time and I'm going to call to see if there is still something like that to explain everything. Good Luck all!!
Oh that's great! I'm sure you'll do great...you sound motivated & ready. I'm in the same boat...picked out the dates for live classes. I'm doing twice daily, so hopefully that's not too crazy. I was told we'll have access to the online orientation starting 11/15, but that's all I know so far.

Pay attention to the version of the course you are in.

I started my RN-BSN in September 2017. I'm liking this program so far; there is a lot of support and the fact that you decide when you're ready to complete the course is a blessing (or at least that has been the case for me). PM me for more info, I am happy to help :)

I am starting Dec 1 also! I am excited to get started. Hoping to complete in one term but I might be dreaming. I have also been an RN for 17 (almost 18 years)
