Who is applying for the Jan. 1 start date in Indiana for the pre-licensure program? I applied back for the June 1 start and did not get in, so I am retaking Physiology and am hoping that will help my chance for this time around!! App deadline is 11/1, and I am scheduled to take my final this week (I have a 94% in the course pre final).
Anyone in the Indiana program? How do you like it? I am also looking at Chamberlain or Ivy Tech as 'back-up' options.

I cannot say enough great things about my experience so far. You really have to be a self-directed learner for this type of nursing program and make sure that you can balance your time. I am thankful that I have such a great mentor to help keep me motivated and that is one of the reasons why I really enjoy this program. The bootcamp was really helpful and enjoyed meeting my cohort. The instructors during bootcamp were so knowledgeable and helpful.
I've looked into Chamberlain, but the price was really a big deciding factor. I also have a previous bachelors and they told me I would still need to pay $60,000+ for the program and that did not include books. At WGU the cost will be roughly $24,000 including all books you will need for the program. So it was a no brainer, for me, to choose WGU and I am not regretting it one bit. Also, take into account if you plan on doing a MSN that will be another cost.
I was never interested in getting an ADN only, but I heard good things about Ivy Tech.
What were your stats when you applied for the program?

Hello Kayla! I was going to apply to the Jan cohort but haven't taken the TEAS yet so I'll have to wait until the next round. I'm very nervous of gaining acceptance I'm not sure if my application is competitive enough. As for Chamberlain I looked into the tinley park location but the fees are pushing me back

Hello,
I'm applying as well. I live in Illinois so I will have to travel 2 1/2 hours for travel time. Elkhart is closer for me than Indianapolis. I have been researching and checking reviews about WGU. So far so good. I talked to an enrollment counselor. I am currently on an alternate list for Joliet Junior College. By Dec 23rd, I will know if I am accepted in their ADN program. If not, I am definitely applying for WGU. I was told that there are not alot of students yet. They are trying to get things up and running.
Hey Melinda! I'm from Illinois as well !! I've heard good things about Wgu. So you've heard there isn't a lot of students applying to the Elkhart cohort?? That should be a good thing maybe I'll stand a better chance of getting in. How would you travel for clinicals and lab? That's my biggest worry
Update: I GOT IN!! I am so excited to start this journey!! I improved my Physiology grade from a C+ to an A- and they said that really helped and they were glad to see I took their advice from the first time I applied and retook the class!!
I got in for the January start!! I would love to be able to talk with you more about your experience so far and how the first 6 month term went for you.

Hi Kayla,
First of all, CONGRATS! Which hospital will your cohort be affiliated with?
You can PM any questions you may have and I'll try my best to answer them!

My cohort will be affiliated with the VA! I am very excited! I think most of my questions really boil down to how the first term is and how hard it is to move on to the nursing clinical portion! I want to make sure I am prepared as possible come January!!

Going through the process right now with evaluations so I am hoping to begin in June. I am following this discussion as I am sure a lot of my questions can be answered as well. Congratulations and good luck to you on the start of your journey. :)

I got in to the Jan 1 cohort for Indiana as well :)
I am also curious about how the first 6 months go. Some of the stuff WGU has told me really confused me. Any advice, centercourt2015?
