WGU Field Experience Preceptor Needed

Updated:   Published

Hi, I am entering my second and final term of the WGU RN-BSN program. For one of my final courses, I am required to find my own preceptor who will... "serve as a student's project partner; sharing knowledge, skills, or experience specific to the selected Primary Prevention Topic.

Preceptors serve as a resource or referral to other agencies and organizations that impact the approved topic and are a connection to other health specialists that deal with the primary prevention topic.

Preceptors must have the ability to support a student's success through community health connections, resources, advocacy, outreach or collaborative activities."

I have tried my supervisors, coworkers and hospital contacts and no one is willing to fill this role. The school will not supply me a list of sites or preceptors, so I am asking if any RN here with at least a year of experience is willing to do this? I am in Orange County in southern California, but I won't need to follow the preceptor in person and we can communicate by text/email. I just mainly need them as a resource on my project subject/topic.

Thank you in advance.

is this for d224?

Hi I know this is off topic but can you give me some insight as to your experience at wester governers and the clinicals. Where did you go for clinicals? Was it pricey for you? Was it worth it? About how much did you end up paying for the program?

I know that this is an old post, but I'm hoping someone from Southern California in the Orange County area will be able to offer some suggestions. I'm an RN-BSN student at WGU and I'm required to find an RN with a BSN or higher to shadow. The program now requires an affiliation agreement with WGU. It can't be inpatient and has to be in an outpatient clinic/health clinic focusing on restorative and preventative care. Is there anyone willing to allow me to shadow? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I'm in Washington State, Franklin County, and I need a preceptor for D224 Global & Population Health and D225 Interprofessional Communication & Leadership for WGU's RN-BSN program.  I am responsible for finding my own preceptor, which follows the description of the original post. Does anyone know someone in Franklin or Benton County, Washington, who would b;e willing to help me?
