Wgu bsn prelicensure

Published

Hi nurses and prospective nurses:

I am very interested in WGU's BSN Prelicensure program. If anyone could provide some thoughts on how the program was that would be awesome. It would be great too if any of you went to the Daytona Beach location for the program as I will be applying and hoping for an opportunity to take my clinicals there. Also, I wanted to know how did you get transfer credit for the Biochemistry course (optional prerequisite). I have time before I have to apply for the November cohort and I was wondering what class you did to get credit for Biochemistry because I wanted to get one more class out of the way to potentially strengthen my application. Thank you for taking the time to read my questions. Good luck to all you fellow nurses and prospective nurses in your future endeavors.

Use the 'search' feature in the upper right corner of this page. There are many, many threads about this program.

I'm a little confused by "I have time before I have to apply for the November cohort". November, 2018????

Sorry, I should have said November 2018. Thank you very much.

I will keep checking other posts regarding Biochemistry. However, if anyone has gotten credit for Biochemistry from WGU what class did you take? Thank you once again.

You can speak with an enrollment counselor (be sure you speak with a prelicensure EC)- and they can tell you how to submit the proposed course information for a definitive call re: Biochem.

I am definitely doing that tomorrow. I read from other posts that a chemistry class they did satisfied Biochemistry. However, that was an old thread so they may not accept it anymore.

Only "biochemistry" will satisfy this prerequisite (from what the counselor told me). If you've taken general chem or any other chem class, they won't accept it UNLESS it is BIOchem.

Yeah I emailed the transcript department and talked to the Prelicensure group at WGU and they said the same thing. Only titled "Biochemistry" classes will transfer over for the optional prerequisite.
