Snelly, now you know you can post here! :redpinkhe You are our sister from another mother! :lol2:

Specializes in Telemetry & Med-surge.

So, you graduate in 2010- Are you a student that is going all the way thru the RN program or are you a transitioning LVN? Some schools have different programs & schedules vary, but I would guess that you are an RN student that just got accepted into the nursing program.:nurse:

Hello "Patients"isavirtue, was your question directed to me?

Specializes in L&D/Maternity nursing.

Oh yay! This is exciting!

Where are you attending: University of New Hampshire

When does your program start: Jan. 20

When are your orientation(s): Dec. 2

What is your 1st semester schedule:

Spring 1

NURS 806 Clinical Inquiry 4 cr.

NURS 807 Pathophysiology and Pharmacology 4 cr.

NURS 813 Health Assessment and Clinical Nursing 5 cr.

NURS 825 Collaborative Care I: Care of Older Adult 3 cr.

NURS 900 Discipline of Nursing 3 cr.

How are you preparing yourself and/or family: its just my husband and I and this is something that we have been preparing ourselves for for awhile. We have to move, so we've already been apartment hunting and have since found a place. We've also made/set a budget for the next two years. Its going to be tight but manageable.

I am wrapping things up at my current job which is a bit stressful and sad all in one.

Will you be working fulltime/parttime/not at all: not at all...it was recommended that we dont as the program is accelerated and extremely intensive.

Hi there all my fellow future nurses!!! :nurse: This is fun! I'm actually graduating Spring 2010 because I'm attending an accelerated ADN program (we go straight through with no summer break from January 2009 to May 2010).

Where are you attending: Georgia Highlands College

When does your program start: January 10th I think

When are your orientation(s): December 15th

What is your 1st semester schedule: NURS 1101 - Foundations of Nursing Practice (class hours, labs, & clinicals) and NURS 1151 - Clinical Calculations (just class hours)...don't know what days/times I'll be going yet, we find out at orientation.

How are you preparing yourself and/or family: Honestly I think things are going to be easier now...I was working full-time and taking all my prereqs at night but now I will just be going to school and studying. I'll be home more and be able to study more, and since my hubby works weird hours I'll actually see him more. It's just the two of us so I don't have to worry about any kid issues. I know nursing school will be very very tough but I have an awesome supportive family and it will be nice just to focus on school and becoming a great nurse!:nurse:

Will you be working fulltime/parttime/not at all: Not at all, just going to live frugally with the help of my wonderful family!

Yay for the class of 2010!!!!!!!

Specializes in L&D/Maternity nursing.

No, not an RN...yet that is. My Masters program is direct-entry and its geared towards those who look for a career change and/or have a degree in a field other than nursing.

Next summer we will be able to sit for the NCLEX and then we graduate with our Masters next December.

Where are you attending? American River College - Sacramento, CA

When does your program start? January 20th

When is your orientation? Not sure yet

What is your 1st semester schedule? Not sure yet

How are you preparing? Right now I am studying for the TEAS test. I have to take the exam on December 1st. I have already taken the HESI so I am not as nervous as I would be....I am still finishing up med term and SOC 300 as support classes and they end 12/18. When I am done with this semester I plan on organizing the heck out of my office and my house. I am volunteering at two local hospitals so I can feel more comfortable in the hospital setting. I do not have children so it is just me and my husband. He and his family have given me the most support and encouragement anyone can wish for. MedicalNerd have been a wonderful help to me as well:bow:.I also need to start making a list of things I need to get. Still undecided about a PDA. Any suggestions? What about a stethoscope? Shoes?

Work: Fortunately I do not have to work while I am going throught the program. :redbeathe
