Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

I'm applying for 2012 as well. Can someone tell me how they enter course works from community colleges? Should I have it label as lower division?

I labeled them as lower division. It was pretty confusing, especially for people who didn't just go to 4 years of college straight out of high school.

I'm glad Western just looks at your last 60 units for GPA, because I'm sure my GPA through NursingCAS is going to be rather messed up.

thanks! I'm hoping to finish the application by mid September. I still need to work on my personal statement.

Does anyone know if we need to include a CV (curriculum vitae)?? It has it as not required on NursingCAS and Western U's website doesn't specify....

Actually, if you read the details for the Western secondary application, it specifies that a resume or CV is required.

Ah! I found it. I swear I've read through everything multiple times! Must have slipped through the cracks. Thank you Maseca :)

Are you talking about before earning your degree or after? If it was after you earned your degree, I'm labeling it "Post-bac"

Oh, did anyone else find the process of having your universities submit that scanned form by Nursing CAS along with your Transcripts a bit much? I swear the college staff is going to screw it up somehow. Maybe that's just me being paranoid

I agree. I have 6 colleges to list, and so far all but two are listed as "Transcripts Received". I'm giving it another week, and if it's still not received, I'll either reorder them, or see if I can call and find out what the problem is. So nerve-wracking!

Well congrats!!! I' hoping to get them ordered and tomorrow. If I would have known about that component, I would have submitted LONG ago. You already submitted your app correct Maseca?

The pre req courses for nursing were done after I received my BA. I listed them as lower div. Should I change it to Post-bac?

Gosh this is confusing.

Yes, I submitted my app the day it was available. I'm uber neurotic like that.

Have any of you gotten the email from NursingCAS about answering the question about graduate school? When I submitted my application, the instructions read that if you're applying to an entry-level program, you should answer "No" when asked if you are applying to grad school. Then this morning I got an email saying that I should change that answer to "Yes"! But when I go into the application to try and make the change, that entire section is grayed out! So frustrating!

I have an email into NursingCAS, but I foresee having to call and sort this out. Thus far, I've been less than impressed with NursingCAS.

Does anyone know the length of Western's statement of purpose? Is it 1-3 pages?
