I've decided where I am going to go. I am working on the prereqs for now but I need to know EVERYTHING about it from anyone that is in the pre-licensure program or who has finished it. Did you work full time? How hard was it? How do the labs and clinicals work? How fast were you able to get through all of the coursework? Did you do anything at straighterline before applying? Did you do all the prereqs through WGU? Did financial aid help cover anything?

I work as a clinical instructor in the pre-licensure program. Before we get too involved, you are aware that it is only offered in five states, right? And that you must physically be present at a clinical site in one of those five states for all eight clinical intensives?

Yes I am. I live in California and they have one here and I know that it is required for the BON to have the actual clinicals done. I just have not found a school that would allow me to do the other courses online. which is what drew me to this school.

I am currently in the pre-licensure program. I did most of my pre req's at my local community college. I had a lot of the classes anyways from my previous degree. I do work full time and I am in my first clinical rotation. It is not easy, but it is doable. You have to be completely free and flexible for the 2 weeks of clinical. This term we have two clinical rotations that are five shifts each. The labs are set and are on weekends. You have to attend lab. Not really any make up days for that. This term there are 7 lab days, all on the weekend. The first 6 months of the program are pre nursing classes, I flew those pretty fast and got done before the term ended. In the second term the classes are not as self paced. You do have hard date deadlines, but can move at a faster pace if you like. I have financial aid that has covered everything so far. Hope that helps. So far I really like the program.
