Nursing Students Western Governors

In an effort to make this process less time-consuming for those who come after me, I am starting this thread to consolidate the info I have found and will continue to find regarding what schools accept degrees/credits/transfers.

-University of Texas, Arlington (according to a post by Kristy78 in 2011, for a DNP program.)

-George Washington University (I personally got an email from them. They said they do but of course it depends on the individual admission. They have NP programs.)

That's all I've got so far after several hours of research. I will update when I get any new info. Please feel free to add your school if you went to WGU and then continued at another school using your WGU degree.

And of course this list from a alumni page, although I am only personally looking for schools with NP programs:

I spoke with UTMB and they said they would accept grads into their NP programs. Assuming all other qualifications are met.

I'll also add that I spoke with Texas Women's University in Houston. While they would not give me a yes or no answer, they said that the GPA from the applicants last two years in nursing school is very important to them.

EMarie, I see UTMB's DNP is online, is the MSN NP on campus or online? Thanks for adding the info.

The one I looked at is a hybrid. It requires some trips to their campus but is mostly online. Their website has all the info.

Got a note back from SUNYIT that they would, in theory, accept transfers. Waiting to hear back as to how heavily GPA influences their admissions.

I am from california, anyone hear of california state university, fresno or dominguez hills accepted ??

I contacted CA State Dominguez Hills yesterday asking them if they recognize and accept degrees and they said yes because they are a regionally accredited school. I also spoke w/CA State Fullerton as well and they accept WGU.

I called the University of Illinois Chicago MSN NP program, and they said they would accept a BSN from if it is CCNE accredited. I'm not sure what they would do re: GPA. They have a GRE requirement if GPA is less than 3.25, so maybe they would just have you take the GRE.

He also said if you had a Bachelors previous to the BSN, they would take that GPA into consideration.

Just want to keep this thread aliveā€¦.I appreciate everyone's input!

any ideas about arizona universities (ex. asu, uofa) accepting their degrees?
