Has anyone gone through their RN- BSN program?
also, they have a new RN program for CNAs & LPNs but it's only for southern california... they use three hospitals for their clinicals...including Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles, CA .......
The fact that they have a contract with such a top of the line hospital makes me look favorably at the school....
but does anyone have any first hand experience...
thanks

Just signed up for the program in SoCal. The first group starts clinicals in July. I am shooting for the January group. They have to evaluate my transcripts first to see what they will give me credit for. Possibility I could start in July also. Am excited for this opportunity.

Wow, I am so jealous of anyone in the wgu prelicensure program, I wish I could do that but I am nowhere near finished with prereqs. They have the second class set for January and they are hoping to have a class starting every month of the year after Jan '10 so I am hoping to get in then. Well, they are accredited by CCNE so that is good and I am excited to see how well the class does! Keep us posted!
I can hardly wait.

Why did I think you were an EC student? Now I'm confused, where's my coffeeeee ...
I have days left at EC with no CPNE date. Having trouble with my request for an extension on my enrollment. Last communication with EC, they were snotty with me and I just decided to jump at the WGU opportunity in anticipation that EC will tell me to fo. Either way, WGU is a BSN program, so I would be killing two birds with one stone, so to speak. Until, I find out for sure how I stand with EC, it is Plan B.

hi caliotter3,
I too did apply to the prelicensure program at WGU and am still waiting to see if i got into the January class. Did you get any info on your transcripts and do you kow when they will let the accepted students know that they got in? every time i call they tell me that they don't know yet when they will select the students. So it's very frustrating because I'm trying to find a job as an LVN as well and need to kow which way to go next year.
if you have any more info please share...thank you:loveya:

I too am an LVN who has applied for WGU's BSN Pre-Licensure program. My original admission counselor was (moderator edit of name) but he has resigned (but for good reasons)-But he was great. Always e-mailed me back or called me with all the answers I needed. Now I have (moderator edit of name). She has NEVER called me back nor has she returned any of my e-mails. I just got my transcript evaluation yesterday but not from her. I got it by e-mailing the transcript evaluation department and they got back to me-quickly as a matter of fact. But now that my transcripts have been evaluated I have no idea what to do. I have to take one more class which is a 4 unit LAE1 class which I believe is an english course but have tried calling my counselor but guess what? It's her day off. How convenient! Bu honestly, (moderator edit of name) got me very excited about this program, it seems very interesting and the cost....GREAT (affordable)! So if my counselor calls me back I will post my findings. Good luck to you all who apply.

They have reasonable fees and are on the CA BRN website. If they would just have clinicals in my area, that would be another option for me. But of course, they don't offer clinicals in my neck of the woods. They are geared towards S. California and I live up in the Bay Area, relocation isn't an option unfortunately.

I will be starting the RN to BSN starting Dec. 1st. I would love to connect with someone who has already taken a couple of the BSN classes so that I can get some advice. Has anyone started the RN to BSN classes, as in the actual BSN core classes (not Pre-reqs) and not the pre-licensure BSN as that is totally different. Please let me know. I am excited to get this done!
Well, they seem to be a little lacking in the response department. I haven't heard what happened with my transcript evaluation. I've called twice, and emailed a request like nnguyen200, did but haven't gotten very far. My counselor called back, phone tag. Then I called, phone tag. Then I got a message from a different counselor telling me that she is my new counselor. I wonder why they are going through all the personnel changes. Disconcerting. I am going to have to call again and try to get hold of someone to have a conversation with. I'm anxious to get this ball rolling. Hope things go better for the people trying to go the RN to BSN route.
