Westcott Chemistry

Hi! I am finishing up my prerequisites before starting my program this fall. I am taking Principles of Chemistry through Westcott (this is my 4th class through Westcott) and I am extremely nervous about the final for this one. Has anyone completed this course and what were your thoughts? How did you best prepare for the final exam? This one in particular feels very daunting. Thank you!

It's just the final that is dreadful because of the information. Rest everything is open book and easy. All the quizies come from book. The instructor is fair and quick as long as you follow what she asked for.

I have a Microbiology final soon. I am re-studying my notes but there are 24 chapters and I feel like I am forgetting whatever I am learning. Can you share any tips if you took Microbiology final?

I heard that you can use a one notebook paper (2-sided) cheat sheet on each exam.  Is this true?

Yes you can have a cheat sheet for finals. Yah its one page only... the content is a lot LOL

Have you taken Human Anatomy and Human Physiology courses? If so, did you have a presentation project to submit? If so, how do they grade the presentation? I'm nervous about that part.

I have not taken A&P but the instructor is same for micro and chem. All 4 credit science has presentation that requires you to make a powerpoint and present a video of atleast 3 mins but not more than 4 mins. Please read instructions to be sure. You can't repeat same presentation for other classes.

It was pretty easy. I found an article for micro presentation and used the data to present it. From what I recall lowest grade was 95/100. The instructor is fair grader. 

Can you share insights on quiz, midterm and  final for A&P once you are done? I might take it soon.

Can someone please tell me what to focus on chemistry? Studying quizies alone from all the chapters is enough for final?

I studied off quizlet. There were a bunch of questions the same. I believe enough to help me pass.

Do you know if she changed the numbers on math problems? Which quizlet did you study? The questions were word to word same from quizlet?

Hello @Sean1991 how did your Microbiology final go?  I heard that if you studied the Quizlet Microbiology final you would be fine.  Have you taken the Chemistry final yet? If so, how was that?  Did the quizlet help at all?

I am not sure about Micro quizlets but for micro, I studied quiz and back of book questions and got over 70 percent that desire bailey quizlet has a lot of quiz questions but missing some too. I studied all the quiz questions and felt a lot of showed up on final with some random questions. The chemistry exam was fairly easy for me. I know people who failed too... If you study all the quiz questions, you should be fine and have like a basic knowledge of terms. For example, what is an electron, covalent bond, stuff like this.... You can always go through her homework videos, those videos cover basic concepts. Hope this helps. Chem I end up getting 80 on final.
