West Hills College ADN Program 2022

Published

Hello Everyone! West Hills Nursing program applications will be opening up soon, so I decided to start this forum for 2022 application period. Anyone else applying? I applied last year but my application was thrown out due to not submitting CPR/BLS from AHA. If my calculations are correct I will be applying with 89.32 points. Good luck to everyone!

Hello everyone,

I'm applying to the LVN-RN. If I calculated right I think I'm like at 80-82 points. Doeas anybody know if it is harder to get in as an LVN ?

From what I have heard I think it’s easier to get into the LVN-RN but not 100% sure

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Can anyone help me how to count calculate cumulative GPA? English is my second language so I had to take some ESL classes in college before completing English 1A. Do I need to calculate ESL classes in the cumulative GPA?

I believe any classes you take that you receive a grade for would be calculated into your Cumulative GPA. If you Google college GPA calculator and input all your grades into it, you can calculate it that way

I have a question, would WHC hold it against my application if I didn’t submit my CPR certification as a PDF? That’s the only form I didn’t submit as pdf. I was reading through the requirements & I didn’t see it say that the CPR certificate had to be a pdf.

Not sure.. maybe call the health office to double check

Thanks Ronny. One more question if anyone can help me answer. I emailed them this question but no one answer until now. I want to know how I calculate my points. Currently I'm working as Lab assistant who collect blood in all inpatients including ED patients, ICU patients and Med Surge patients. Do I consider as working in acute care and get 8 points for this area.

I would assume that would be in the 8 point category since it is in a acute setting in a hospital.

Hi everyone,

My friend told me that WHC has roughly 300 applications so far. Good luck

They extended the application until next Friday, there will be more

Yeah, that's what my friend was saying cause they were having application issues. The director didn't want to do a paper application, hence they extended the deadline

300? For the lvn to RN?

IDK in specific, I think it's both the ADN and LVN-RN

Can someone explain what preselection means? I know It says it does not guarantee a spot but what does it consist of?

Once they have determined the top 24 students , those students are then preselected and have to meet the criteria to get into the program.. such as background and drug checks, vaccine requirements.. etc. so all those things have to pass and then you are in the program. Does that make sense?
