West Georgia Tech ASN program

Has anyone applied to west ga tech ASN program? I applied to the newnan campus for summer 2013. Does anyone know what an average gpa/teas score or competitive selection score is for those that were accepted to any of their campuses?

my anxiety is rising, going to distract myself by cleaning tomorrow. i spoke with an rn student last semester, he said they took over 30 last selection and at least 8 people dropped after the orientation meeting about the requirements. i agree that they are trying to weed people out.

I think that's a good thing to weed people out. I mean, sorry if that's not nice, but cut out the people who don't REALLY want this. Trim off the dead weight so those that may not test well get their shot. Just because someone is great on paper doesn't necessarily mean they are cut out for nursing. Its hard, dirty, stressful work. I think that's why so many schools are requiring the CNA before hand, so that it weeds out people not willing to "pay their dues". Yes, even RNs feed people, clean up feces, and get vomited on. ;)

So how was the meeting? Even though I'm going to Highlands, curious to know what they are doing.

The meeting was just to let people know how serious they should take the nursing program. It wasn't really anything I didn't already know. .....However I only counted 48 people......so does that mean that 18 of the people present won't get in or are there people who did not attend the meeting still being considered?

from the email the meeting was required, one of the ladies did say there was a makeup meeting...just wish we knew already!

I know, but she said there was a make-up meeting, however she also stated that she didn't believe there was anyone coming to the one tomorrow. Did anyone else by chance count how many people were in attendance today? I know, I wish I knew already, too.

i stopped counting after 42, by then i knew we weren't there for them to let us know we got in...i'm having mixed emotions. sometimes i think yeah i'll get in but then i think my score is too low....this week is going to be miserable, waiting for the mail!

Congratulations on your acceptance into the BSN at Lagrange College! I am considering WGTC's RN program and Lagrange College's BSN program. What was the application process at LC? Did you do pre-nursing courses at WGTC or LC? Have you heard of the Sims Nursing Scholarship? If so, how does the scholarship work?
