  1. Look forward to meeting you as well! :)
  2. My score was 83.49. I had 81 on TEAS and I don't remember what the gpa score was, but I made an A in a&p 1 and 2, B in English, A in math, and I had AP credit for psych. I also had an A for micro, but I don't think they included that in the gpa. I don't have my paperwork anymore to reference. I am really happy with the program I chose. It's a BSN program at LaGrange College so although its a much longer commute from peachtree city I will have my BSN in two yrs. Their program starts in August so I am able to take a break before jumping in. They also have a 100% NCLEX pass rate for the past 4 years so that was huge in my opinion. I've already met the nursing faculty and had a chance to do a meet and greet with their current nursing students which was immensely helpful in making a decision to accept/decline schools.
  3. I was never told an exact number of applicants, but I was told it was fairly competitive. I think the numbers were boosted for Newnan because anyone applying to the University of West Ga campus in Newnan also had to get their CNA license. I'm assuming many people applied to both programs. I am not sure how that would impact other campuses. I got the most info by calling the campus and told them I was a prospective applicant for the nursing program. I had already applied, but by having a convo with the nursing dept about their program in general they gave me tidbits of info on the application process. One word of advice....they expect the physical and immunization to be done ASAP. I would advise setting up an appointment for a few days after the date they said they would let you know by. That way you don't have to scramble to get in an appt. They sent info for the physical and ordering uniforms with the acceptance letter.
  4. I applied (and got in, but declined my spot) for Newnan Summer 2013. They told me that they don't process acceptance letters until everyone has received their score and had a chance to correct any errors. They told us a date we would get our accept/reject letter by and I got my acceptance letter about a week before that date. Good luck to all of you!
  5. We lived in savannah for four years and recently moved back to atl. The nursing program at Armstrong Atlantic is pretty good from what I've heard from others. Get your paperwork in early, as with anywhere in savannah they move at a slow pace. I had a friend that went to savannah technical and HATED it and I've heard other bad reviews for nursing and basically any program they have. I don't know much about south university. You can also look at schools in Brunswick if you don't mind driving. Also schools in South Carolina that are close to sav will offer in school tuition for Chatham County residents.
  6. I declined my spot at WGTC. I accepted a spot in the bsn program at LaGrange College that will begin in August. Good luck to all of you!
  7. I made an 81 on the teas and scored above average on each section. Thanks :)
  8. I got my acceptance letter yesterday.
  9. My sister is a rn at piedmont newnan in mother/baby. She just started in feb as prn after taking time away from nursing to have her son. She loves it there! Good luck to you!! I am hoping to hear something from them soon. I had an interview at Lagrange college for their BSn program so that would be my first choice if I can get some scholarships to cover the cost of private school tuition.
  10. I got my score today in the mail, 83.49. The letter said they would mail decision letters by may 6.
  11. I applied to university of west georgia newnan campus and didn't get in. They just re did their admission system and don't include teas and you get preference for living in a certain county and a bunch of other things. We just moved to peachtree city in November due to a transfer with my husbands job so I can't really move. I plan on applying to clayton state and several others for spring if I don't get in to the tech program. I would certainly rather do a BSn, but I want to finish as soon as possible.
  12. I'm sorry, I meant English 1101. I've taken English 1102 but as far as I know they don't require it. I'm not sure how they will do preference points since I'm not sure how my ap class credit for psych will fit into my gpa. I'm anxious to know what the points are. The lady I talked to said they were going to accept 20 people with the highest points for the program. Which I don't understand why it will take two weeks after we get selection score to get a letter since it would simply be the top 20 scores. Oh well....
  13. I haven't heard anything from them. I did call two weeks ago to confirm receipt of my app and they said to expect a letter two weeks after the deadline that would have our competitive selection score. She said she wouldn't expect to get an acceptance/reject letter until the end of April. She also told me that the first summer semester would be at the Lagrange campus because the new newnan campus won't be open until August. Do you mind sharing your stats? Mine are A in both lecture and lab for A&P 1&2. I had a C in college algebra (bad online class, a B in English 1102, and I have AP credit for Psych 1101. I got an 81 on the TEAS and scored above the national average on each section. I don't get any preference points.
  14. Unfortunately I had to take it on short notice and I was sick, so I only made a 81. But I scored well above average on each section and made a 87.9 on science. I've been out of school for a while so other than science I haven't had most of those subjects in well over 7 years. I recommend getting the study books and doing practice tests. Warning though.....the practice ati online tests are MUCH harder than the real thing
