Hi Heyday109!
Congrats! :) That's awesome you've got LVN experience! Which type of unit do you work in? Would you like to do the same specialty as an RN? I'm doing the BSN track to nursing. I don't know about you, but I feel like January is approaching fast LOL. I've completed Anatomy, but have to do Physio at WCU. So thinking I should brush up on that subject since our program is accelerated. Are you transferring credits in too?
Good luck and yah, see you at orientation!
Thanks Hope_abounds! You too! So I've been a LVN for about 10 years now finally decided to take the leap. I've been all over the place really but mostly urgent care, home health, family medicine and more recently local travel nursing. I want to get into to sports medicine/ortho or ED as a RN. I have most of my pre-reqs done that are being transferred in with a couple that I am currently taking. I will have to take Chem, and Philosophy (for some reason they didn't transfer in) You are right January is very much so fast approaching but I'm overall excited. How was the process of acceptance for you? Smooth sailing I hope.
hello everyone,
I will also be starting in January 2024. Question for everybody will you guys be planning on working during nursing school. I know this program will be tough, but I have read and seen some now Nurses get through the program while working. That is my only scare with starting the program :/ because I can not, not work :(

That's awesome you've got varied experience. I'd like to try a few areas and see what fits best for me. Thankfully acceptance went smoothly. I took Nutrition awhile back, but they said it's a core class so it had to be within one year to be eligible for transfer. I'm excited too! It'll all be worth it from what I hear from my nurse friends.

Hi! Congrats! I don't have facebook, but here's a link for the general WCU page: https://www.facebook.com/WestCoastUniversity.

I feel the same way as I have family obligations and I'm probably going to sacrifice sleep. To help with time management, I suggest googling "block schedule template for nursing school and use a planner. I think when I see my confirmed class schedule at registration, then I'll have a better idea when I have open slots to study. Good luck!

Hi there!
I'm starting WCU Orange County in Jan 2024! I'm feeling so excited and nervous to start a new chapter in this nursing journey. The somewhat same jittery feeling I got when I was about to get married LOL. It would be great to connect with any future students. Anyone attending in the Spring term?
