Hey Everyone,
I am considering attending West Coast University Ontario Campus for the BSN program this November, but I have a few questions still not answered. One of my questions is regarding where does WCU have their clinicals at? Hospitals, nursing homes? WCU just says they have a 50 mile radius and clinicals change and I will not know where I will go until that time comes up. My other question is does it matter if you attend the Ontario campus or Anaheim for the BSN program? Is one program better then the other?
thx

If you attend an informational session they give you a packet; Included in the packet is a list of current clinical sites.
I don't know anything about the Anaheim campus, sorry.

WCU Ontario has clinical rotations at multiple Kindred Hospitals (Ontario, Montclair, & Riverside, Rancho Cucamonga), Riverside Community Hospital, Parkview Community in Riverside, Arrowhead Regional County Hospital in Colton, Patton State Hospital, San Antonio Hospital Upland, and a lot of others. The hospital usually is directly related to the rotation you are in. I know they have a peds rotation all the way out in Newport as well. Both programs are the same between the campus's. Ontario is a newer campus. I have heard both negative and positive things about the locations. I believe this is mostly related to the who is doing well in school and who is not. It is a good school, not a perfect one but a good one. I did my research and they have all their accredications from the rn board for ca. the program is fast paced but once you get used to it, it is hard to imagine going at a slower pace such as traditional schools. It is very expensive compared to other colleges/universities however you do get what you pay for. No wait list is the biggest thing. You can pay more and be done and working when others are still on lists to get into classes. I just depends what you need. Good luck.
