Just enrolled at WCU for my RN-MSN FNP program. Anyone currently taking courses? Any advice?
Thank you for the info. I am nervous about the 6 intensive weekends because I live in Florida and I am on a tight budget but my hospital provides 5250.00 a year in tuition reimbursement so I will save that for the trips to the west coast. Are you on facebook? I would love to keep in touch. Maybe we will end up in classes together. Actually, I should PM you :)
I can't respond to your pm and I can't find you on facebook. If you want to email me at [email protected] we can figure this out! Thanks!
Hello to you. I started my MSN last week and will do the FNP track as well. I really like the MSN at West Coast University so far. From the very beginning, they have been very accommodating. My advisor was great. I am doing full time and it works well for me even if I have a full time job. I still get to do a lot of stuff (even playing video games. lol) and submit all of my papers. Our professor is great too. Instructions are structured. The degree is fairly priced. They have on site intensives after a year and a half (if im not mistaken) as well so I'm really looking forward to that.
I see you have experience in nephrology; are you pursuing a career as a APRN-BC in Nephrology?? If that's the case, what's the path you will follow after you graduate and get certified as FNP?
All,
I'm on the same situation; WCU has just confirmed they are "willing" to take me in . However, what I read so far about the institution is far from enticing, not to forget that I'm not a fan of for-profit education. BTW, I'd be initially enrolling for MSN in Nursing Informatics.
I'm concerned about this school's reputation, rates of certification and employment after graduation...return of investment in general
Thoughts??
Hi!
I just started now in july 2019 FNP track with WCU. Im technically starting my “second year” because I was originally doing MSN in leadership then freaked out and thought I would regret not doing FNP so I applied and got it. I wanted to know if anyone else is in the FNP track and if we could connect because I would love to hear how it’s going for you / have some support system lol. I’m nervous and anxious about it because it’s very different than the MSN in leadership. I’m also in Florida and will have to travel for the 2 on site intensives. Has anyone gone for those already? If so how are they??
Let me know! Thanks ?
Hiii! I just started the FNP portion of the MSN in on week 3 of pharm and patho & phys ... wanted to see how it’s going for y’all?? Quiz 1 was pretty hard and I’m nervous for quiz 2 ... have the classes gotten harder or easier ?? Any Feedback would be awesome I’m super anxious over here! Lol would love to know how it’s going in year 2 and if you all went to the on-site intensives ! Thanks!

I also have a friend who is doing MSN - FNP track at WCU and she also said it's doing well for her. I didn't know she's at WCU until I finished my application. She got 20% off of her tuition because her hospital is affiliated with WCU. Good for her right? Hehe.
