Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to start at WCU Orange County campus this upcoming January! I would really love to connect with other prospective students throughout the process. I'm currently studying for the HESI entrance exam. I'll also be finished with my last few pre-reqs by December. Where are you in the process? Let's talk!
Hello everyone!
I am considering WCU if community colleges don't accept me this Fall. The application I will be applying for is April 2023!
I have most, if not all, of my pre requisites complete. @nursecindy24 do you mind sharing an estimate on total tuition cost? Will it take you two years? Anyone working while in school? I am wondering if I am able to manage a per diem job.
Best of luck to you all!! ❤️
@RoseMA3 Hello Rose! sorry for the late message. I am not sure how much it is because it depends on how many years you will be at the school. For me it's two years exactly.(I went in without having Microbiology, Ethics and English completed.) Every 10 months you have to renew your loans approx for me its $34-35k each renewal. so I am now approx at $70k. Then I just have to pay the last 4 months which IDK how much that will be. Hope that helps and makes sense. You have the option to pay the interest rate monthly while in school or just wait until 6 months after school to start paying back your loan including interest. I am working as an LVN per diem job.. I work 2-3 days a week. some days are 4 hr days or 8hr days. but Honestly im in finishing finals this week term 4/10 and its been rough and I wish I didn't have to work but it is very doable thus far. I feel like the terms get more challenging so I guess ill have to take it term by term. If you don't have to work, don't do it. Focus on your education. But if you have to work, per diems are very flexible.
@nursecindy24 hi! I currently work as LVN at kaiser. Full time. I’m trying to go to WCU I have all pre reqs except my sciences. Gonna take there. What I’m wondering is how many days on average do you attend In person (theory and clinical together) I will have to continue to work as much as possible since I have kids and family to support. Just wanted to see if I can get an idea! Thanks in advance ? how is the program going for you? What rotation are you in right now
@superscrubs123 You take it at the beginning of the class and then again at the end. It's just a fluff class and busy work. It's a pass or fail class. Don't worry too much about it. It's to familiarize you with ATI

Beginning and end of the 10-week course? What? From what I understand you can score less than a 58 and still pass the class if you are doing everything else, is that right?
Do you take it online or in person for that class?

Oh awesome! Do you have all your prerequisites complete?
I don’t think think I will need a parent co signer. I just didn't know where to get the loan. I have looked at College Ave and salliemae.
