I think you might possibly have it mixed up with the traditional UCLA RN Residency? I know for that program they don't require a license to apply and their next cohort starts in September but this is for the county position.

You'll probably be denied if you apply without your license since it's a requirement. I believe they ask for your license # on the application so I would just wait until you pass your NCLEX and then apply right away! Also, congratulations 😊

I'm glad that I could help! I've been there, it took me over a year to make peace with my decision to move forward with west coast. I follow some students on instagram who currently attend wcu, they share their experiences and are open to answering any questions about the program. I'm still in the admissions process, I have my financial aid this upcoming week. I'll be starting in June as well depending on seat availability!

Hey! Accreditation is the most important factor if you want to apply to MSN programs in the future. Yes West Coast is expensive but it has the accreditation. Stanbridge is both expensive and lacks the accreditation. If West Coast is your last resort like me, make sure you transfer in all your general education courses. If you don't have a previous bachelor's degree, you may be able to qualify for FAFSA. I also believe that you can apply for merit based scholarships after your first year at wcu. Good luck!

I actually planned to take my HESI in September as well but unfortunately I lost someone in my family and it kind of flipped my world upside down. Yes, sorry. I meant to say that if I finish my current degree and then purse a BSN program, I would not be eligible for fafsa. Once I have a bachelors degree I'm no longer eligible to receive federal grants toward a second bachelors or higher degree. Which is part of my dilemma of continuing my current degree or pausing and going straight for ADN

From my understanding, once you have a bachelors degree you are no longer eligible to receive federal aid for a second bachelors or higher degree. Only loans and scholarships

My major is psychology. I can afford to pay for an ADN program without fafsa but if I finish my degree and then decide to pursue a BSN or ABSN, I would not qualify for federal grants and I could not afford it otherwise. I'm definitely considering a CNA program as well!
