You'll be back. If you don't, you very well may go through the phase of wishing you had but then decide to pass over.
Either way, this might not actually be so long. Perhaps, it might be more appropriate to say, "so long for now".
When I was introduced to area dominated by LPNs I noted only a couple of days of orientation with very low quality, Vague practice policies, and poor charting.
When I was introduced to areas of nursing dominated by RNs, I witnessed 12-16 weeks of in depth orientation. Seemingly endless amounts of possible (but not mandated) time charting, (ie: I once saw an RN write 6 detailed paragraphs about a dispute and altercation involving security and nursing staff... LTC would never EVER have time for something like that.) and excellent management skills!!!
I don't know how your school is set up but for me the toughest classes where peds and ob since they were just soo short ( about 4 weeks each) best advise I can give is to make sure you read ahead of time and don't fall behind.

I took my NCLEX PN today and all indications are that I've passed!! I tried the pearsonvue re register trick and got the good pop up, now all that's left is for me to get my license number! So all you students just remember if I can do it so can you, keep your heads up and shoot for the stars.
