  1. That's what it's all about! Some receive their license and never look back. Always reach back and help those who are starting out.
  2. Congratulations! Spend time with family now and get things in order. Understand you will need your family and friends for strength and encouragement. Stay focus and don't allow the amount if work deter you. Best wishes!
  3. Start your search now just to see who's hiring. Just be aware most employers require you to have your license (or at least your license number) before applying.
  4. Make sure to take care of yourself. Nursing programs can sort of burn us out. Take your vitamins and get a good nights rest. As for will it be like this as a nurse?! For me I get a good nights rest and try to take care of myself. It'll get better though. Keep up the good work! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses

  6. I am currently employed as an LPN but just wanted to encourage you all. Stay focused and don't give up. No matter the program you may become frustrated but just don't become discouraged. Best wishes to you all!! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  7. My first level clinical rotation focused mainly on head-to-toe assessment and gathering info to add to care plans. Try not to let your nervousness over take you. I was so passive during my clinical rotation even though I already worked as a CNA. Relax and allow yourself to learn and grow! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  8. Things I kept in my bags are: stethoscope, BP cuff, drug reference guide, black PENS, note pad, hand sanitizer, scissors, Tide stain remover, breath mints, feminine products, Tylenol/Aleve and pen light! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  9. I went to TSPN and graduated from there. No program is perfect and from my experience no instructor failed anyone intentionally. You have to learn the material and understand it! Just because someone studies 20 hours doesn't mean they know the material. The commute isn't bad at all even in the winter season. Whatever program you decide to go into be focused and determined to succeed!! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  10. It was my suggestion due to the fact that the Metro Detroit area (which I live in) only has a select few PN programs. Just wanted to offer options (forgot to mention Riverview). However, like I stated originally do your research. Make sure programs are accredited, inquire about loan options, courses for each level/pod, program retention rates, etc. Answering questions such as those should be useful in your decision making. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  11. There's plenty of PN programs around. Look into Toledo School of Practical Nursing, Everest, Athena , PSI, Dorsey, Stautzenberger, and Brown Mackie. Tuition varies from program to program. Contact and research all the programs and find what fits best for yourself. No program is going to be a perfect fit...just remember that!
  12. Try not to be too nervous! Go in confident. Don't put too much pressure on yourself for every question. Take your time and go get your license!! ?
  13. I agree! Exam Cram (by Pearson), Saunders, and ATI really helped. I didn't use Kaplan though. TIP: remain calm! Take deep breaths and pace yourself! Keep telling yourself your going to pass. Best wishes to everyone who has to sit for their NCLEX
  14. Congratulations you earned it!!
  15. Michigan has a 2day QR option too. Best wishes. If we made it through nursing school we can pass the NCLEX ?.
