well, I can say I am officially discouraged...

After reading the thread from the nurse manager, I can honestly say I am discouraged about becoming a nurse...

I am one who has ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to be a nurse, I have never really had a passion for anything else... kinda sucks to know that there is a good chance that when I graduate I will not get a job... sucks!!!! I have been applying at all the hospitals near me for a PCT position and have no bites.. I use to be a MA about 5 years ago, but clearly doesnt matter.

Oh well, sorry for all the complaining, just had to get it off my chest somehow... Thanks for letting me vent! and if you feel the same, vent away :)

Thanks guys you are right! I guess I was just in a mood after reading the thread. It just seemed soo negative. I live in NM and am totally willing to move to find a job. My family and I have been talking about moving to Denver. I will have to look into how well their hiring rate is right now. But as for now I will focus on finishing school and soak up everybit of information I possibly can! I just know I am going to be an awesome nurse! I just can't wait!! :)

If you haven't even started school yet than you have a few years before graduation and so much can change from now and than with the economy. The worst thing you can do is go into nursing school with a negative attitude. I see so many people in my class have such a negative attitude since the beginning and just complain, they are always so stressed out all the time. Go in with that same passion and excitement and keep it. Make an impact during your clinicals and start worrying about a job when you're close to graduating.
