Weird reaction to TB test?

Nurses Stress 101

Published

Hey ladies, i went in to a clinic this morning to get a TB test done for clinical purposes. Well, about two hours later, the site grew like a small golf ball!! and was somewhat reddish, but it was soft. i called the clinic, because i have done the TB test a few times and have never had a reaction to it before. I don't think its a positive result in a matter of two hours, as the test result peaks at the 48-72 hr mark. they told me to come back into the clinic to take a look, and the NP that administered it to me said its probably an allergic reaction, but also thinks it "is gonna be a positive". I don't think he administered the injection correctly honestly, because he messed up the first time he inserted the needle and had to re-enter. then, the injection BUUURRNEEDD  when he injected the solution (this has NEVER happened before). he recommended i take an antihistamine. the "golf ball" has gone down a bit but now I'm worried about the results being positive.. any advice?
