Hello everybody,
I am a foreign educated nurse and I will be taking the NCLEX-RN Monday February 2nd.
I've been studying since last year, studied and practiced questions from LaCharity, Saunders, Lippincott's, Kaplan, ATI. Now the time is almost here and I am starting to feel nervous!
I just completed the Kaplan Q Trainers (the ones you find online) and my scores were:
QT1 64%
QT2 69%
QT3 70%
QT4 65%
QT5 67%
QT6 71%
QT7 65%
For what I understand and I've been reading here at the forum is that anything above 60% is good? This confuses me a little because somebody told me (with Saunders and ATI) anything above 80% is good.
I found Kaplan's questions to be more difficult compared to Saunders (that are more content focused).
I don't know about you guys but I didn't like Lippincott's Questions so much so I didn't finish all the questions on that book.
From ATI I used the application that has about 800 questions and also did a couple of their comprehensive practice assessment exams (150 questions each). I like them but that was before Kaplan :)
So my question is what should I do in these last 2 weeks?
I was thinking on getting the NCSBN review (the 3 week package) and practice their questions. I just don't want to stop practicing because I feel that I will forget everything lol. People say NCSBN questions are complicated and even ''harder'' than the actual NCLEX but I don't know.
I have an obsession with the scores because like I said they seem to vary according the author. From Saunders I started around the 60s and end up with an 80-81% in the last ones I took. Same with ATI, started around the 60s sometimes I would get 86% (I remember that score being the highest). With Lippincott's never made it higher than 70s.
Anyway!! Sorry for so many numbers I don't want to overwhelm you guys. I'm also aware that scores in the end are just numbers, the important thing is how you study. So I would appreciate any suggestion.
Thank you!

Hi almaguerrn,
I'm also a foriegn educated nurse, planning to take my NCLEX on Feb 11th.
I have been studying since few months with Saunders 5th edition & some free NCLEX apps in my phone.
i did NCSBN (5 weeks course) in September. I kept on reviewing their content... it was very overwhelming; but their questions are great!!! I couldn't finish them.
I felt that i needed some more content...
since, it was difficult for me to sit & read for long hours (get distracted easily), took Hurst online review... I loved their lectures - 'a nutshell of core content'!!! If i need more information on some topics, then i would refer my Saunders....
I felt like i needed some more test taking strategies & passing level questions... I finally enrolled in Kaplan classroom anywhere course....
My Kaplan scores are:
Diagnostic - 63%
Qtrainer 1 - 63%
Qtrainer 2 - 61 %
Qtrainer 3 - 55%
Readiness - 68%
I have to finish other Qtrainers & Qbank....
I'm also doing questions from Saunders CD & PDA.
lets hope for the best..:)
wishing you good luck!!
