weekend program

If anyone is out there working the weekend program, how do you like it?

I heard my unit needs someone, so I was thinking about looking into it on night shift... but I have some reservations between my SO working M-F long hours (so I'd never see him) and my kids having games etc on weekends that I'd always miss. The upside is the obvious though- home 5 days a week, still getting full time pay and benefits....

Looking for your thoughts... =)

I work Sat/Sun 8a-8p and love it. I work 24 hours, get paid for 36, and have 5 days off in a row. I get to do a lot during the week that I would not ordinarily have time or energy to do. However, my son is grown and my husband is home early during the week. My husband says sometimes he misses me, but if he could get that schedule he would grab it. I do, however, miss barbeques, dinner parties, etc. My coworkers appreciate it because it would be short staffed without weekend option. Another downside is that I have to give plenty of advance notice to use leave d/t the weekends are short staffed if they take me off the schedule. Hope this helps.
