    I am a telemetry RN and 8:1 ratio is high. Telemetry pts require a lot of IV meds. I would not choose to work with that kind of ratio on a telemetry unit. Good luck.

    In our hospital you have to be a NA before training to be a tech. A tech does everything a NA does and more. A tech can insert a foley, do blood draws, start IVs etc. in our hospital. Pay is commensurate with experience.
