Good morning.
Chilly 45 degrees here Best friend texted at it was 72 back home. So close yet so much warmer.
Spent some time with my brother who came over while his car was being repaired. My dad went to get him but my brother drove back. Thus happened before I got there. I would have volunteered. My sister apparently was asleep Dad seems to drive okay during the day but I don't like the idea. My brother is on Medicare without a supplement and is looking onto an Advantage plan. I get tell he was hard if hearing because sometimes he talked very loudly.
Otherwise quite bored.
Hello!
Joe, good your work week is going well. And yes, I would think that when the book club members like the chosen book, the discussion could be better!
Tweety, I'm sure your family is glad to have you there. When do you go home?
I got my Covid booster yesterday, and felt pretty good during the day. Night? Ugh. I felt like I ran a fever at night, I had the covers piled on me (which I never do). I feel sinus pressure today, and though my watch says I slept OK, I feel like I need to lie down and take it easy today. This too shall pass.
We are supposed to get rain today, yay! And on Fri and Sat.
Have a good day!
Cloudy, in the low 60's, but no rain predicted. The backyard looks like the leaves were never removed, but they were, maybe 3 days ago? Anyway, it's all covered in dead leaves again, everywhere! The deer don't even come looking for deer-corn, so I am "saving $" since I figured they are going to be hot into the acorns while they are available. Later in the Winter when the acorns have been et up, I will start putting deer-corn out again.
It's 3:30 PM and I am starving! I may go up to the kitchen and make an avocado sandwich. By the way, when I add Turmeric, I always add fresh ground pepper corns, BECAUSE, "they" say the black pepper really helps a person absorb the turmeric better. Turmeric is supposed to be kind of anti-inflammatory, which I figure I need due to ol' Mr. Arthur Ritis and the gypsies.
I have, yes, another load of laundry going, but no sheets or blankets! Just clothing. And only one load. I think there are some small glasses and spoons to wash in the kitchen. Where else would they be, you ask? I remember when my sister in Maine had all of her pipes frozen, except the water to the bathroom.....so it would not be unusual at that time, for her to wash the dishes in the bathtub. But not at the same time as taking a bath!
Speaking of my sister and baths....did I ever tell y'all that when we were little kids, and my sister was having a bath, she always asked my mother if she could sit in the tub until the water all drained out of it? I would stand there and CRY, because I was certain she would go down the drain with the water! I was, what, 3 or 4 years old? Anyway it was traumatic for me back then!
Laundry is in the spin cycle, so I am going to dash up and make me a half an avocado snamich before I fall over from hunger.
Only in the mid 40s here, and spitting rain. I rode my bike down to the pharmacy to pick up the one RX that wasn't ready (waiting for refill from doc). It was not as warm as I had anticipated and my face was froze when I got home. I've been speaking with insurance agent: need 2nd estimates on roof and electrical. Unfortunately, many trades around here are too busy to take on more work. I hope this is over soon. What looked like minimal damage seems to grow every day.
The grandkids are coming over and staying a couple of nights so their mama can go to required training for her school board seat. I'm eating left over chinese food that I made last night: sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. Not too shabby, if I do say so my self. I came in 2nd last night at trivia, out of 13 teams. Youngest ds helps me on the music rounds because I am terrible about knowing the artist when listening to a recording clip. Last night's music round was about Broadway show tunes and you had to name the show.
I have heard about turmeric as an anti-inflammatory but it may potentially interfere with one of my heart meds. And I'm supposed to avoid ibuprofen, but I confess to taking it occasionally when I just can't sleep through the aches.
I heard about a community in Arizona on NPR this morning that can't afford water. Developers can sell homes without a water source, and people generally truck it in. But it's become so expensive, people are trying to get by with rainwater and bringing water home from work. Ugh.

Tweety glad that your parents are stable
Hi Dianah
NJ22 I hope the repairs don't take too long
Stars it sounds like you've been productive
Work was a bit busy but not too bad. Short work week for me, so I hope that this holds up until Thursday
After work stopped at the grocery store, went for a walk, then went to book club. A good discussion this time, better than we've had before, I think it was because everyone liked the book
Today will try to get laundry done during lunch, as after work I have the remainder of the grocery shopping and a vestry meeting (which thankfully will be via Zoom)
Still waiting on the car, it's getting closer, currently in IN. Ideally I'll be able to go over there on Friday when I'm off to complete the sale. Saturday could work too but Friday would be better
Another fairly warm day in the mid 60s
