Good morning!
Got one trick or treater but had to ignore them as I didn't get any candy. I thought about putting a bowl out for the neighborhood kids. Mostly because the house was dark and uninviting they passed on pay. Plenty of other neighbors were giving out candy.
Speaking of trips confirmed my dog sitter for my trip to see my parents in two weeks. Looking forward to seeing them but it's so boring. But they are elderly and only so much time left so we'll just be together. They are always happy to see me.
One of the airlines canceled a flight for a trip best friend and I are taking next February and he spent a good deal of energy taking care of that for us. We had to switch airlines and Delta and Air France to my shock gave us a full refund of the entire trip and we are booked on United and Lufthansa now. Stayed tuned as to where it will be (it's not Europe, just passing through). I reserved a parking spot at the Economy parking at the airport. It will be nice to have my car when we land.
The museum was nice. I'd been before a few years ago but they had some new stuff.
Insomnia visited me again last night. I had a headache and the dog was snoring. Around 2:20 AM I took 1/2 a Klonopin and read a book and fell asleep for three hours. Will potter about and hopefully have energy for the gym.
Always tired. I think it is probably emotionally related to hubby's passing. I know we had some awful times there during the last few years, due to his drinking, but I really do miss him a lot. We were each other's only company here at Nannie's. Remembering the good times we had over the years, and so sad we will not be able to make our retirement plans come true.
It is 52 degrees and sunny. Looked through my final hopes of finding the birth certificate and marriage license last night, with no luck. Now I will have to call the vital records depts in NC and Mass and get it done through the mails, once I get the proper/official forms in the mail. Ugh.
I wish you could see Momo when she does this: After I get dressed, I carry her down to the den, with a plate and her dog food, and set her down on the sofa. I put the food on the plate and make clicking sounds with my tongue, and she gets down to eat. I go upstairs and make my coffee and set up Nannie's tray. Then when I start down the stairs again, I see the empty dish and her pee/poop on the underpad on the floor, and I say "Oh, what a GOOD girl!" and she excitedly runs in small circles wagging her tail and 'smiling', so proud and happy. It really is a relief to have a dog that is house-trained. Ozzie and Pippy were, a lot of the time, but there were more 'accidents' that weren't accidental.
Having coffee to wake up and then will start in on the phone calls.
*sigh*
One easy-peasy bureaucratic office I dealt with today; to get a copy of my birth certificate all I have to do is write all my info on any piece of paper, enclose a check for 2 copies, and SASE, and mail it to them. WOW! I thanked the woman profusely for being the easiest call that I have ever made requesting documentation needed for dealing with SSA. WHEW!
Now I am waiting for the County in NC to call me back about sending me a copy of our marriage certificate. Wonder how long I have to wait? If they don't call back today I will call them tomorrow morning, early!
SiL will be here in about an hour. I can stop somewhere and copy my driver's license for SSA business.
Reason we can't find hubby's driver's license, which I may have mentioned in the past, but I just re-remembered it------He was stopped by a cop early this year, not given a ticket, but because his DL was expired, the cop took it. Hubby never did get it renewed, probably because by then he was drinking so much he didn't want to go to the DMV, just in case he had to go through some kind of test and was too f'd up to deal with it, or someone might detect the odor of alcohol on his breath. SSA better just be happy with his death certificate, because he had NO gov't, work, military, or school photo ID's, other than that driver's license that is gone. Whatcha gonna do in that case? The DMV can't do anything about it, they said. PHOOEY!
I'm ready to jump up and go, wish it was time already!
Hi. Overcast and cool here, rain to start in a couple of hours. I rode my bike down to the demo garden to listen to a talk on garden berries that was okay. The speaker was a little scattered, and had a soft voice. She talked about the berries they have there and two attendees monopolized the time to talk about loganberries and black currents. But I got out of the house, which I need to do more of. I planted some daffodils yesterday for dh, because it's hard for him to get down on the ground. No body felt like cooking dinner, so ds ordered Subway and then went to pick it up. I'm really trying not to order out so much (expensive, high carb and sodium) but I haven't been too inspired to cook. Food is mostly tasteless to me, and dh only eats what I make about 50% of the time. Speaking of ds, his lab work showed he does not yet have DM, but he's headed that way. And his cholesterol is up. I think this is a good wake up call for him.
Stars, that is great news that getting your birth certificate is simple to get. the SSA issue is quite a conundrum. I know when I go to the doc, they scan my ID. Would the Dr. office have a copy in hubby's file?
I decided not to give out candy this year, and really didn't miss it. I'm sure it would have made the dogs crazy.
Stepdaughter shared a video of the granddaughters trick-or-treating in the snow. Looked cold. They didn't last long.
Back to my room after another dinner out. Talk about too much sodium! And again it's late. I brought my CIC study guide but don't know when I thought I'd have time for that.

Tweety a glass museum sounds interesting
NJ22 better he finds out now so he can deal with it early on
Dianah that is understandable, travel has gotten quite expensive in recent years
Stars that is an awful lot of hoops to jump through, I hope that the whole process doesn't take too terribly long
Hi Ado
Hoped for an easy day yesterday but it turned out not to be. Had to work through lunch and stay late again. If I didn't have to cover for a coworker who ws out I probably would have had a more manageable day. Since no one is out today I'm hoping it will be easier
Didn't do much after work, just exercised and did dishes and watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"
Tonight will do the grocery shopping and the laundry, as I will be busy tomorrow
Will be a little warmer today, in the low 40s, no rain or snow expected
