Good morning!
Joe, that does seem tactless to break up and then ask for money. LOL. You're a good friend though. I know my best friend and I would loan each other money.
Dianah, I wish I had a green thumb for gardening as well...maybe when I retire that can be a hobby I can learn.
Ado, good luck with the move.
People go crazy over avocado chocolate pudding. I've made it once and hated it. Maybe I should give it another try. The yogurt might make it better.
Woke up way too early before 4AM and just got up for a while and cleaned the bathrooms and surfed the internet. Just woke up from a nap. Not much going on today but chores, grocery shopping and the gym.
The movie "Tar" was quite good. Cate Blanchett is a good actress.
Joe, that does seem a bit awkward but apparently not different from the J you've known.
Tweety, I don't know anything about "Tar". We watched "Nope" on Halloween night and it was entertaining. I'm not sure I picked up on all the social commentary.
The first day is going reasonably well. A few hiccups. I didn't sleep well last night. Some anxiety I'm sure. Also we had pizza at the hospital yesterday for lunch, then the family and I had Mexican food for dinner, and I haven't been taking my prilosec.
Yeah, hmmm~ Suspected yesterday that hubby had a small bottle or two tucked away. His doc's appt was late in the afternoon and I believe, since he was out of the Librium taper capsules, he might have sneaked a snort or two after his appt but before we picked up his new script at the pharmacy. Later in the afternoon, he took two capsules (50 mg.), as the doctor told him to take 2 last night, and then cut it down to one cap (25 mg.) 3x/day for 5 days. He has another follow-up appt on Friday at 11:20 AM. Maybe if he behaves, his gut won't be shaking any more.
The reasons I think he drank some yesterday were, 1.) He yelled at the TV Network News, and 2.) When I hugged him goodnight I could feel the tremors all through his torso. I asked him what was going on, and he said his stomach had been "jerking" all day. I asked "why?" and he said "That's what happens when you give up alcohol." ----I thought the shakes were supposed to ease away over the course of his Librium taper; at least I don't recall him complaining of or me feeling these kind of shakes prior to this. But I didn't say anything; maybe if he takes the new dose of capsules, and DOESN'T "slip", by Friday's appt they will be gone? Who knows! But if that is what he did (have some booze before he got and took his med) I hope he learned a lesson from getting the 'jitterbugs' and realized WHY it happened.
My gosh, when Nannie got up today, SHE was wet, but her bed was dry, so no laundry today! ? The wet pj bottoms were tossed in the washer to wait for the next load.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADO! ?
Joe, I am always 'short of $$$", but I promise I will never ask you for any! ? Today I bought 5 Powerball tickets, just in case *I* am the one in the, what, 780-million-to-one-odds, who will WIN One BILLION Plus! I picked my #'s on one ticket, and let the machine kick out the other 4 entry's numbers. If I do happen to win THAT much money, I will be asking for all of your addresses in a private message, and send y'all a honkin' huge Christmas or Hannukah check. Now y'all HAVE TO cross your fingers for me!
Never heard of Chocolate pudding made with avocado. I wouldn't mind tasting it, but not intrigued enough to make some. I like chocolate, and I like avocados but I may prefer to have them separately. I am not too awfully fond of puddings, anyway.
Out of the middle of nowhere, Nannie just said, "I almost forgot to tell you --- Just about everything I wrote down in my book is pretty much the same." So, having NO idea what she was talking about, I just said, "Oh? Well, that's good!" and I smiled and nodded my head, which seemed to please her. See, I'm learning.? She has not put pen or pencil to paper for at least two years!
Then, instead of waiting to take her meds......, because as I set them down with her drink, I always tell her, "Don't take these until he comes back with supper." So, of course, after she said, "OK", she took the pills and swallowed them before I could even get out the "W" of the word 'Wait!' Ah, well, it only means she'll get sleepy, sooner, so there's no complaint from me!
I used to have a lot of house plants, the kind you can ignore and rarely kill, like philodendrons and ivy, and some aloe and jade. I have NOWHERE to set a pot of plants down, or to even hang a few. Well, truth be told, there are no windows on the SOUTH side of the house, so it will be a challenge, but maybe when Nannie is beyond caring about her decorations, I can start making this house OURS!
Hmmm, our Mme. Na-knee is sitting w/ her eyes close, and moving her hands as if she is sewing. Now THERE'S a sign I recognize: the gears are slipping more and more....
Stars, sometimes you have tremors even with librium. Sometimes the tremors don't even start for a few days and can last for many days. On the floor we dread day three if we knew a patient admitted was an alcoholic and hoped for an early discharge because day 3 seems to be the magic number for withdrawals to start. Sounds like he might be trying but your gut instincts might be right.
I was somewhat productive but never made it to the gym. I did some meal prepping and have some good vegan food to eat in the coming days like red lentils and potatoes, and a chickpea soup, and the usual beans and quinoa.
Happy Birthday Annie! Good to read that all survived the move. I remember when my former employer moved our cardiac unit up 3 floors and to an area with fewer beds. They did it on a night shift and our one staff member who was in on all the planning got floated off. It was absolute chaos, and we kept getting admits with patients on 2 floors and not enough staff. Typical of that hospital.
NoStars, I hope doc knows about the continuing drinking, it may make a difference in dosing. Yeah, day 3 is always the pits.
Half day at work, then a three mile jog by the harbor in the cool sunshine. We’re going to have tacos for dinner.
It's a weird quivering/vibrating; he says he still has it. He has not been so odd-acting today. I even got him conversing about childhood/family stuff and it was quite a pleasant change, for about 5-6 minutes. Ya take what ya can get!
Okay, y'all can quit holding your collective breaths. I didn't win nuthin' tonight. Now I don't have to go in search of bankers, lawyers, financial advisors, etc., which actually is rather a relief. Hubby and Nannie are quite enough to deal with at the moment.
Time for the Reading Hours. I'm not usually on-line this late, and no offense, y'all, but as the bumpah-stickah says : "I'd rather be reading." Right now, at least.
See yez t'moro~

Tweety that's great that you've been sober now for 26 years
Stars that's good that he hasn't had a drink in 4 days
NJ22 that was a good idea, listening to that all day would be draining
Dianah our family used to grow vegetables but as things got busier it was just too much work
Happy birthday Ado
Pretty quiet day at work, despite company wide computer issues until noon. I was able to work on other things until that particular system was back up
Stomach was acting up a lot yesterday, not sure why, maybe all the stress?
Had an online meeting with one of the political groups, also delayed by some computer issues
Talked with J for the first time since Friday, was like nothing had changed, which was nice. And, like this same time last year, he was short of money *eye roll*. No, I don't think he's trying to pull something, he's just being himself: Honest but tactless and sometimes oblivious (which is why he has been the target of multiple scams). So like last year I loaned him money, to be payed back once he gets his tax returns. I wish he would have waited until we spoke a 2nd time before bringing this up, having our first conversation since our semi break up include a request for a loan makes things awkward. But at least he trusts me enough to ask and I trust him enough to give. We also talked about plans for my birthday later this month, which will be nice
Today have grocery shopping after work, should otherwise be a quiet night
Will be quite warm today, up to the low 70s
