Tweety glad you found your wallet

Ado glad they recognized Nurses Week, we didn't do anything here

Stars glad they will be doing an update on the bathroom

Dianah glad the weather was nice for Disneyland

Work was pretty quiet yesterday, just a bit busy in the afternoon but otherwise good.

Dad's TEE was rescheduled to next week, not sure why, I think that may have been the hospital dropping the ball on scheduling

Rest of the day was pretty calm too, did the grocery shopping and exercised

Today should be a pretty ordinary day, nothing unusual at either work or after work

Going to be warm again, upper 70s, then even warmer the next 2 days

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Bathroom remodel especially if plumbing is needed is expensive.

The drive down was relatively uneventful. One wreck and one lane where one lane of the internet was flooded.

All is well.

79 degrees, 92% humidity, sunny at the present moment, and rain / t-storm predicted for 12 Noon, 2 PM, and 5 PM! It's 11:30 AM, so I am waiting for the clouds to gather more and give us the first rain of the day. Moderate 'noise' from the gypsy encampment in the usual spots.

Not sure about my itinerary, as I am not quite awake enough to want to think about it. I suspect I will finish the dishes. Not sure about my laundry yet. Just am enjoying the peace and quiet, as SiL took Nannie away to daycare early this morning.....AND, I don't think I have to go pick her up this afternoon. I'm not sure if that means an earlier 'return' by SiL, and if that means 3:30 or 4 PM, I say ppfftt, that's too early. If it means I don't have to go out later, I guess I'll accept that. It's a trade-off, but y'know I'll take what I can get. 🙄 Maybe she will take Nannie to get her nails done again, and that will extend the quiet time here a little.

Hello all!

No Stars, I wonder if your gypsies knew the t-storms were a'comin', and were celebrating?  Good you have some alone (No-Nannie --- as in, no-nonsense!) time today.

Joe, too bad about your dad's TEE being rescheduled.  It did sound suspicious that he had not yet been given a time for the procedure.  I hope it's rescheduled soon.

Tweety, glad you made it safely to your destination!

I didn't sleep real well last night, though I'd-a thought I would have, after exercising and then taking the walk with S!!  I got close to 4 hr in, and then got up to the alarm, so I could get ready to take the car in for its ceramic coating appointment.  After I dropped it off, dh swooped in with his little car and picked me up and carted me back home.  Now for a nap... (the car won't be done till early afternoon)

Chatting with S yesterday, I learned her husband B is taking a Master Gardener course!  He has his Masters in Botany, so this is right up his alley.  S says she would not be able to sit through the courses (though she tends their lovely yard).

Have a good day!

I promise you, I am really not complaining, but .... so much for peace and quiet!

..... SiL came over to clean Nannie's bathroom and the den: dusting, vacuuming, washing, and generally picking up. Then BiL showed up; supposedly the washing-machine guy said he'd come by today, but no phone call from the guy about that so far. BiL is testing some keys he found to see if they were still good for any of the doors, particularly the back door's two locks. Locks were changed twice in the past 8+ years, but whoooo knows why any more?! Hubby didn't toss out any of the old ones that no longer unlock anything, and that is kinda dumb, because a key with no lock to open is pretty useless! And, of course, because I have ALWAYS kept those two back-door keys in my purse, naturally they AREN'T there! I must've set them aside to have new keys made, then got sidetracked, and well, you know how THAT goes! I'm sure they will show up, because as they always used to say in the BC comics, they "don't have legs." (they actually said that about CLAMS, but that isn't pertinent to this particular occasion.)

Time to scrounge around in the kitchen to see what I feel like eating for my breakfast-lunch-BRUNCH!  SiL said she brought some meatloaf, potatoes and green beans for our supper. Might wait 'til tomorrow to eat that, because on days when Nannie goes to daycare she eats AM and PM snacks and a full lunch and is seldom hungry at 'suppertime'. She doesn't get lunch here because I get her up around lunchtime, and that's when she has her crushed AM meds in pudding, and her yogurt, BOOST, and juice,

BiL just left (2:30 PM) and said to call him if the washing machine guy shows up. SiL has gone to pick strawberries with her dgt, and told BiL that if she is still doing that later, HE can go pick Nannie up. I don't much care as long as *I* don't have to do it!

I thought of something last night.....ie, 'new' to be happy about, but now I can't remember it!

So far, no rain at noon, or at 2 PM, so maybe it'll rain around 5 PM?  So what, who cares? Not me!

PS: I did wash the dishes! 😁😇

Chapter 3:

SiL has gone strawberry picking, and BiL is still with the plumbers who came an hour ago and so far they have been working on an outside drain, and don't know when they will be done.....So, GUESS WHO is being asked to go pick up Nannie? Yep, me! I won't be leaving for at least 1/2 an hour, as *I* don't want to be picking her up any earlier than I HAVE TO.

AUGH!. The only thing that will make this week somewhat better is if Chatty CG comes tomorrow afternoon. If she doesn't, y'all may see a large smoke-mushroom cloud coming out of the skies over the middle of N.C. and you may be able to "see it from space!"

I guess I am just a NICE schmuck. 🤪

Car is retrieved.  AND I ordered an owner's manual.  Oh yes, there is on in the computer, on the dash screen.  But I want a printed one, that I can hold in my hand and leaf through as I cuss, not one on a screen.  It should be here in 2-3 weeks.

I made some of the Chicken Tomatillo Soup, that should do us for 5 suppers or so.  I also made dh's favorite "crackers," baking the swiss cheese squares.  I put chopped jalapeno peppers on half of them, and sprinkled all with sea salt.

We are nearing the end of the series we have been watching (doling it out, one episode per lunchtime!): Death In Paradise.  They have been through several staff changes, and dh always will remark, "for a little Caribbean island, they sure have a lot of murders!"  Hmmmm, wonder what we will watch next...

Have a good evening!

Hi all. It's 5 pm and the sun is just now coming out. Cloudy sprinkle-y day. I spent the morning at the demo garden, weeding, removing diseased leaves, and squishing bugs. A little hummingbird came by at one point. He sort of danced around, checking me out, and then went to the flowers to stick his little beak in. I am heading to town shortly for a kick-off event at a local eatery, supporting a fundraiser for dd's organization that raises money to provide no cost meals to the community. I have a PT appointment in the morning. I have been faithfully doing my "toe yoga" and calf stretches. Maybe they help? but I still get the stabbing pain in my foot if I stand too long.

Joe, that must be annoying about your dad's TEE. I am sure he would like to get that all behind him.

Dianah, hurray for naps! Master Gardeners have a variety of experience and training. I am more of the hands-on type, and some have degrees in botany and or entomology. We learn from each other.

Fresh strawberries? Nom, nom.

I bow to y'all's expertise and willingness to share it!  I hope your foot is improving, with the exercises (though I just read it still hurts if you stand too long on it!).  I am waiting to hear what your MD has to say about it.

(and yes, I took an hour's nap!  It was bliss!)
