Tweety sounds like a productive day

NJ22 hope you can get in soon for your eyes

Ado when are you going to Indiana?

Stars that must be frustrating, glad to hear that he didn't hurt himself

Work was fairly busy but not overwhelming thankfully.  Still was a bit of a grind, perhaps because I was coming off of a 3 day weekend

Did the grocery shopping after work, was going to exercise too but my legs were too tired from all the bicycling on Monday

Tonight will drive to Indiana to see my nephew graduate high school.  Thankfully it looks like the  rain will  stop by the evening, as it will be outdoors.  Will likely get back late, hopefully I won't  be too tired tomorrow

Will be warmer today,  in the upper 80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and time with family later.

Stars, glad your husband wasn't hurt and that he got an eye appointment.  Funny how it's "no appointments until November to come tomorrow".

J22, sounds like you're doing some fun things with your retirement time.

I had an easy time scheduling my eye appointment which is in a couple of weeks.  Has to be after June 6th which is when my last appointment was.

Having routine air conditioning maintenance done now.  He was to come between 8 and 10AM and got here at 8:15 so I don't have to sit around and wait.  Got the floor mopped.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was a fun mind candy movie.

I decided to pay off my debt I incurred with my bathroom remodeling with savings, otherwise I still have about 4 years to go if I pay month by month.  The idea was to eventually pay it off when things settled and I had more savings.  This will take a huge chunk of savings so I hope I can build it back up before the next disaster hits.  Middle class problems I know.

I got up late morning. Hubby was already drunk and prolly had taken at least 1/2 Xanax.... He went up to his bed and crawled in. Nannie was already up in her recliner. The towels around the water heater were soaked through; I put them in the wash on cold, so I could dry them to use again, if necessary; I put another thick towel down.

Went upstairs to 'consult' w/ hubby about calling the company which does Nannie's heating/cooling business. He kept saying that maybe I should call another day so we wouldn't have to pay for an emergency visit. I told him it's Wednesday. He then said, "But it's after hours." ....No, it isn't, it's 12:30 PM and not a holiday. He sat on the side of his bed, searching his brain about what to say and do. I told him to just go back to bed and I would call the company..............................And, oh, guess what ?: He told me that the eye doc's office called and said the girl who adjusts his glasses is "out of town" today and he made another appt for Friday, but can't remember what time it is for. YUH. My take is that he realized he's too drunk to go to that appt today, even if I were to drive him, and he called them to re-schedule. This is getting ridiculous.

I'm waiting to hear back if a tech can come out and look at the water heater today. But whenever he comes and whatever the cost of the heater will be, then I can call the 'John Edwards' guy and see if we can get the $$$ for the water heater replacement from Nannie's investment funds. I'd say we can, because when the heat-pump/AC unit had to be replaced when we first moved down here, the investment guy okay'd it.

If the tech comes today to look at the water tank, I'm going to have to tell them that hubby is drunk ( ? like they wouldn't be able tell! ), because I'm sure if the tech comes today, hubby will stagger downstairs to talk with him. UGH.

...to be cont'd....

Joe, I'm flying to Indianapolis Saturday and sleeping at our niece's house in Greentown, then driving to Syracuse Sunday for grandson's graduation, all while trying to get the car we left in Greentown for stepdaughter drivable, so that I can drive it and return my rental car, then have work meetings in Indianapolis on Monday and Tuesday -- at the Bottleworks hotel which I guess used to be a CocaCola bottling facility? -- , and *hopefully* drive the car home. I do have a roundtrip airline ticket in case I can't make the car work. Hubs says the last time we were there he started it, I think he means when we were there 1.5 years ago. He says I might have to put a new battery in it. Stepdaughter will be in town before I get there and promises to put air in the tires with her brother's compressor that she is then taking back up north with her. Since there is talk of possibly selling stepson's house, I figured we should get the car out of the driveway. And my sister and her son could use it. It was my parents' car, a 2003 Buick LeSabre. I got a replacement title, got it insured, and renewed the registration.

.....The tech can't come to check out the water tank until tomorrow, which is fine by me. I told them to come after 12 noon. I'll have to get Nannie up early, since the water tank is in her bedroom.

The eye place sent me a text about Eddie's appt today, and to be there at 3:25 PM. That tells me he didn't talk to their office. I called them and told them that HE said they had called him and switched his appt to Friday. Well, she had no appt's listed for him on Friday. I told her we would just have to call back at another time, to make another appt for him.

NOW, guess where he has gone?! YES!, to "the shopping center" which is 'code' for the liquor store. ? He better come back walking upright and with the car in one piece. Do you think it would do ANY good if I read him the riot act? I feel like telling him if he is going to continue on this way, he'll have to find another place to live while he's drinking. I do not need TWO patients, and it already seems like I do.

You know, even if we had the money for him to go to a live-in rehab for a month or two, I would be willing to bet the rehab wouldn't "take" and he'd start drinking again the minute he got out. I know many folks have to go to rehab multiple times. *sigh*

Jazmatazfrazz! I really am sick of this!

Nobody drives my car under the influence. And nobody with a history of driving under the influence drives my car. Everyone in my family, including nieces and nephews know to call me anytime for a ride, no questions asked. I've taken keys away from friends and been cussed out for it. It was worth it.
