Hello all!
Thanks, Joe, I did sleep pretty well last night, thankful for that! What did you order at the Italian restaurant? I haven't had Italian food for a long time... now you got me thinking, maybe I can make an eggplant parmesan! Yummy!
Dh has been hard at the computer, keeping track of snowfall in the Sierras -- which has just surpassed any records for the past 53 years (as long as the chart had years up). I can't imagine records have only been kept since 1970. Will have to research that! Anyway, our favorite spots at Mammoth Lakes area have 28" or so of fresh snow -- on top of all the other snow. Dh enjoys watching the live cams of the Village and Tamarack Lodge and other areas.
Yesterday we made reservations to camp at Calico Ghost Town, for a bluegrass/music festival in May. We haven't been there in probably 30 years! From the online photos, the campground is full of dirt, dirt, dirt, LOL! It's a desert!! But just a quarter mile from the campground is the ghost town. It is a true ghost town, abandoned in the late 1800's. Walter Knott (of Knott's Berry Farm) bought it and refurbished most of the buildings, then it ended up in the care of the State, as part of the State Parks system. There are old mines near the town (unsafe to go into, so boarded up), and lots of little shops in the town. During the "festival," there will be bands playing in the streets of the town.
A couple friends made reservations too, and possibly we can get more, so we can have some good jamming in the campground. Hopefully it won't be too hot, too cold, or too windy. We're not particular, y'unnerstand... LOL! Just don't want it too hot, too cold, or too windy!
Have a good day!
We are at a high of 61 degrees, the wind is chilly, and the sun is very _________(fill in the blank!) ....< I think y'all can ace this pop quiz!
Yippeeeee!, a bit of good news! Hubby called the nsg home in town and there is going to be a nurse come over here on this coming Monday to do an assessment of Nannie, to see if they can take care of her. *Fingers Crossed* Not sure of any available beds, but it's a step toward "re-homing" her. ??
Hubby has been to the ABC store; there was a brown bag on the front seat of the Ford, next to him. I don't care.
When we go to his appt tomorrow, we can get doc to fill out an FL2 for Nannie.
Whatever else they discuss or decide.....ppfftt! If hubby wasn't so....I dunno....let's be kind and say, maybe, SCATTERBRAINED.... I'd bail out of going to his Dr's appts w/ him. But then I wouldn't get the correct info. So, I guess I'll keep going with him. I don't expect this to happen, but I can't help but wonder if....IF....he ever stops drinking....would they be able to tell if dementia has already set in? I feel like he has some holes in his brain!
He's coming in from the Ford, so I ill stop at this point ad come back by here later. He always asks,"Who are you talking to?" Now I can say "nobody". BYE!
There are two bonded animals who have been PALS for-almost-ever, which a shelter in Wake County, NC, wants to re-home together ---it's a big mixed-breed dog (prolly has a little PIT in it among other breeds) AND A GOAT! If we had a fenced backyard I would almost be tempted.....and both Nannie and hubby would have a COW if I adopted those two critter-buddies.....and then we'd have 4 animals!! I was kind of 'mean' and sent my sister an email about them. I know she'll groan and say she wants to/would take them, but since she has given up all her animals except for two indoor cats, she would say she can't afford the time or $$ it would cost. It was so cute to see the video of the goat and dog running around together
Dianah, always nice to have something to look forward to.
I woke up when I was supposed to be leaving for work, so obviously I was late. Sure was sleeping good though. I treated the tech to breakfast and she got me a breakfast sandwich that I ate on the run quickly. Not the best but I need breakfast. I was 25 minutes late to work but thankfully had four patients. I discharged three of them and got three admissions.
I finally caught a halfway-decent photo of our largest cat, Eddie. 8yo Snowshoe Siamese. If you stopped by, you would NEVER see him, as he is exceedingly shy of new people, and easily frightened (even of us, sometimes). But he is affectionate and beautiful to look at. He is probably 20lb. He is near The Cats' Chair, torn to pieces by them but they still love it. And I can't bear to get rid of it (yet).
So, Eddie has what I used to call "Pizza-Feet" when I had a cat (Turtle: so named because the gray on her back resembled a turtle's shell.) with 7 toes on each foot. Turt could walk on the top of a chain-link fence, and since we lived in the city, there were chain-link fences between all the little yards. She would make her way from the back yards....all on the fence tops, and never touched the ground until she was opposite our back door. I said she was showing off because no other cats around there had pizza-feet.
....... . ....
..
.. .. .yuEddie is gorgeous.
In a different life I'd like to have the dog and goat (not the life where I live in town and with no fence).
Today did not go as planned. Had an appt with the ortho doc to discuss my MRI. No tear (yay). Posterior tibial tendonitis, edema, and sinus tarsi syndrome. Never knew I had a sinus in my ankle before having these foot problems, which are basically collapsing arches, though I've always had rather flat feet. I could do custom orthotics ($$$) or try another type of OTC orthotics, which I think I'll plan to do.
So I had just checked in at the clinic when I got a text from the nurse manager asking if I could relieve the one nurse working the med/surg floor because she was not feeling well. So when I got to the hospital I took report on the 5 patients. The aide was feeling sick, too (both with sore throats) but there were 3 nursing students for most of the day and one of our other techs came in about 1:30. Finally discharged one to a SNF about 6:00. I had trouble dealing with the Telemed cart and see opportunities for better work instructions for that. But finally got it done.
Missed choir practice since earlier this year we decided to meet at 6 instead of 7. Then almost forgot I had a Walmart order to pick up.
*My* throat is still sore, started maybe Friday. When I went to work Monday I had a Covid test that was negative. And I've had other cold-type symptoms. Who knows? I might be the Typhoid Mary here. Drank my throat coat tea with honey tonight and last night.
