Tweety glad you're able to phone in rather than attend in person

Hi Davey

Ado that  is a good description, not angry or depressed just down

NJ22 I'd have a problem with a coworker like that too

sirI I got a Samsung a13, similar to the one I already have

Stars glad they're getting rid of the wood at last

Work wasn't bad yesterday, though the process of getting temporary licenses from CT and  MA was a bit confusing.  The MA site gave me an error at the last step in the  process (though a coworker had that happen and  she got her license  anyway) and CT it looks like it's automatic, although a coworker said you  had to click something on the original application which I'm  not sure  I did.  Have a call into the nursing board to see what I need to do

Got the new phone after work,  they didn't have the free phone deal at the place I went, but it wasn't costly so I just went with it.  Managed to get the phone set up in only an hour or two.  Didn't get a charger but found a charger and cable that would work (the old one didn't work with it).

Exercised a bit and had an online meeting with the vestry about pandemic restrictions, which we decided to ease.

Today hopefully will be a bit calmer after work, have grocery shopping and choir practice, which will be later than usual due to Ash  Wednesday services

Low 40s today, then low 30s/upper 20s the rest of the week, then a warm up starting Monday

Good Morning!

Joe, hope you enjoy the new phone.  I have Samsung Galaxy and it's a good one.

Ado, I'm sure you'll get a handle on your new job soon enough.  A challenge can be good for the mind.  ?

Amo, sorry the literary masterpiece being lost to world is a disappointment.  ?

J22, that coworker would make Mother Theresa snap.

sirI, hope your day of meetings went well.

Stars, I don't even remember what the old AN site was before the changes, so I guess I've adjusted.  LOL...

Dianah, everyone I've seen retire has said the same thing that they don't want anything done and are somewhat uncomfortable with the fuss.  However, I imagine if everyone ignored it and let it pass then they might be a little upset that no one cared enough to do anything.  So just smile and put up with it.  LOL

I can't believe how much I use my phone these days.  I use it for social media like facebook and Instagram.  Use it at the grocery store.  Use it like a radio to listen to podcasts and meditations.  Use it at the gym to watch movies while on the treadmill.  On and on....

I have much on the agenda to accomplish in the way of housekeeping, cooking, shopping, going to the gym.  We'll see how much I actually accomplish.  I tend to get distracted easily, especially if there's a good debate going on here in the political forums.  LOL

The staff meeting that was generally positive.  Our VP of nursing was there and explained the new vision of us being a surgical only floor with hopes of expanding services.  She sounded positive that some of their job fairs and hiring events netted some new hires and that she's hopeful we're at the tail end of our staffing crunch.  But I've heard that before.  I asked on behalf of a few of us worried that the new manager wouldn't honor our established schedules such as mine that allows me to bowl on Monday's and she assured me that it would remain intact so that was nice.

Have a great day!

Good morning! It's sunny and cold, with a brisk north wind. I must sound like a real witch to complain about co-workers, but there are just days when I have to blow off steam. I realize OCD and ADHD is likely more uncomfortable for the person who has it, and I am glad I can vent here. This is my short day, and my only plans after work is to tackle my giant pile of laundry. I also am trying to clean youngest ds's room while he is gone. I did get his running shoes mailed to him. He plans to take walks and or use the workout room at his hotel.

Joe, my ds has a Samsung and it takes the best pictures. I'm not sure which one he has. I am an iPhone person.

Tweety, that is encouraging that you will be a surgical only floor. I would think that may be more attractive to new grads: few conditions to become familiar with and few drugs to learn.

Dianah, I am with you about goings away. The last two people to leave here just sort of slipped out the door. Three of us took our last supervisor out for dinner, which was nice.

Stars, w00t, that the trees are going away. Hopefully, it is entertaining the Nannie person, so that she has something else to think and talk about.

Amo, can you start a new novella? I am not confident on starting such a thing, but perhaps one of the mods or guides could help.

Hi Ado, I hope you are staying warm and the job training is coming together. My last colonoscopy was pretty easy, peazy. Of course the prep is tiresome. But so is colon cancer.

Hey, sirI. I am sure your music is much appreciated and rewarding.

dianah -- what a busy job! I agree with the advice to let them honor you as you retire. Congratulations!

All -- hope you have good, productive (or not, sometimes we need to unwind) days.

Last night when I got home hubs was in a funk. Maybe it was just the day for that, Joe. I attribute his mood mostly to anxiety about today's prep and tomorrow's procedure. Then, this morning, his niece posted on facebook that her dad (his brother-in-law) became unresponsive at the gym yesterday and was given CPR and taken to hospital where he did have a rhythm (makes me wonder if he never was actually in arrest). Had a cath, no significant blockages, but placed 2 stents anyway. This is the brother-in-law who takes care of hubs' sister who has Alzheimer's. They are both 65. So maybe hubs was picking up on a vibe out of Florida :-).

We both come from families that used to be close but have drifted over the last few years, especially after my parents and hubs' dad and brother died. I have cousins in this area but rarely communicate with them. Maybe I should make more of an effort.

Last night's Hello Fresh meal was a cheese fondue with beef tenderloin, roasted potatoes, roasted asparagus, chunks of toasted bread, and apple slices. It was very tasty.

Choir practice tonight. Our director is a music student who has ambitious plans for our Easter cantata. I hope it all comes together.

Gosh that Hello Fresh meal sounds GOOD! But I am the only one in this house that would enjoy it. Bah.

It's been a damp, occ rainy, cool, breezy day. Brrr. Weather guy said we will have a "hard freeze" Saturday night into Sunday: 20 degrees.

At the agency by which I was employed pretty much forever, my final day was unremarked ... because so many people that I worked with for so long, had already quit! The CSR's wanted me to stay so they didn't have to come up with a replacement to work my shifts/cases. Didn't make me feel too warm and fuzzy.

I was going to stay in my room today, to dust/rearrange, organize, etc. Alas, I didn't do that. I had to go to the pharmacy for refills, and to return the battery-operated hand-muff-warmer I got for Nanny. It worked great at first; she was thrilled with it, but today it didn't work at all. Harumph.

News is on....I'm going to watch and be horrified and feel helpless.

Yup. I did, and I am, and I do.

What a world.
