Good morning!
Feel asleep early and stayed asleep until about 5:30ish. Took the benzo that I've been skipping as I had some anxiety.. Worried about my sister and parents. Mom's kidney failure seems to be worsening and at 88 not sure if dialysis is the answer vs. hospice. She had some lab work yesterday that we are waiting on. Dad had a fender bender accident. He only drives during the day and to the bank or grocery store but we are now telling him not to drive anymore. He's ignoring us. We'll see how it all plays out. Of course the burden is on my sister who is there living with them taking care of things. My brother is there but works and isn't much help. Their grandchild and myself are here in FL with our own busy lives.
Anyway, on that happy note, live goes on. Been doing a bit of meal prep, laundry and dusting.
Have a great day.
Joe, hope your dinner goes well tonight.
Tweety, sorry about the difficulties with your parents. It's not an easy time.
I had to insist that Hubs break out of his homebody status and actually go to the waterpark. It's just so easy to stay home and not do anything. But we went and had fun and he even told me it was a good idea. So hooray! Score one for me.
As for laundry, I may or may not have a load of towels in the dryer that's been there since Sunday...
ONLY 95 degrees but the 'feels-like" is for 110 degrees. YIKES! Chance of rain this afternoon is 71%. Chance of me doing anything much at all is something like 18.27 percent. I am such a PRO at procrastination. One of these days I hope to get up energized and knock out the tasks and chores in short order. Right now I just look at it all and sigh.
I have been resting with all my Capsaicin patches in place for about an hour, and I think I will be able to get up shortly and at least get dressed. I will be picking Nannie up each day from daycare around 5 PM, simply because I don't want her being brought home at 3:30PM, which is what SiL would be doing. It's only a 5 mile drive, so even if it is at rush hour, it doesn't take too long. And interestingly enough, Nannie seldom speaks on the drive home or for a while after we get here, which is a nice bonus. Really, I seem unkind, I guess, but I only sound this way because I have been here NINE eff in years. My patience with my patient is worn pretty threadbare. I keep reminding myself I need to be thankful for all the good in my situation. As you can tell, that is a hard thing to do, what with being smothered by too much exposure to The Grande Dam of all mothers-in-law.
No more dawdling. Gotta get up, 'cause my full bladder wins this round.
Hello all!
Joe, I hope the dinner was well-attended, and more than that, whoever came was a pleasant addition to the group.
Tweety, I will keep your family in my prayers; it's hard to keep up with the happenings from a distance. I would tend to have increased anxiety and worry, though I *know* none of that would help the situation. One day at a time.
Ado, good for you for urging, and good for your dh for going to the waterpark! Sometimes we surprise ourselves, yes? I hope this serves to encourage him to step out of his comfort zone.
No Stars, I saw a meme once, "I used to be just a crastinator, but I turned Pro." 😄 That's me, too! I hope today wasn't too bad, Nannie-wise. And I hope your aches and pains are either better or more tolerable. Those are some MEAN temperature and humidity combinations, YUCKKKY!! Stay in and stay cool.
We pulled in today from our trip to Northern California to the Susanville Bluegrass Festival, which was over the weekend. We arrived there on Sunday the 15th (left Friday, and divided up the trip to 3- and 4-hour road segments), camped there until Monday the 23rd, and in-between we attended Music Camp (guitar for me, bass for dh), got in at least one 3- or 4-hour jam per day, met new ppl, renewed friendships made at last year's festival, ate some yummy street tacos from one of the vendors, got 'bout froze out on Friday and Saturday nights, as temps dropped to 37!! The wind was bad on Saturday too, and I put on just about every stitch of clothing I had with me and some more I found in the RV, to stay warm! It warmed up a little on Sunday, the last day of the festival -- luckily, as we were asked to help with the gospel program on Sunday morning, so we were out on stage at 8:30am on Sunday, playing and helping with the music!
The bands were really good! And it's cool that the band members teach workshops, sharing what they know and do; and some stand around and listen to the other bands play, and they are all so approachable. I'm not sure if that happens at any other venue besides bluegrass! Greg Blake and Hometown taught our Music Camp, and were just a wealth of tips and encouragement -- not to mention talent and skill!!
I am unpacked, and as soon as dh feeds the critters, we will eat too. I have the first load of laundry in, and it's ready to go into the dryer. We sure missed the cats while we were gone, and from their clingi-ness, they missed us too! It's good to be home. Now to practice some of the things I learned at Music Camp!
Have a good evening!
Dishes done, Previous clean/dry clothes finally put away. Other laundries done; will put up the rest of it tomorrow Got Nannie at 4:50 PM. Put her to bed at 9:20 PM. Tossed out 10 lbs of old magazines. Started to separate old bills for shredding and other paper stuff for recycling ( a LOT of it! Will prolly take several hours to finish it off!) Anyway, I did get some things accomplished!
SiL dropped by to clean/clear Nannie's bathroom, because the walk-in shower is supposed to be installed tomorrow.
And now I am going to get in bed and READ! Yesterday when I got Nannie from daycare, I went early so I could look through their bookcases and buy some more books.....50 cents for paperbacks and $1.00 for hardcovers.....I got 7 books and it makes me VERY happy!

Thanks for sharing the photos Tweety
Ado sounds like a nice low key anniversary
Hi Stars
Work was not bad yesterday, despite being off. Some intermittent craziness but otherwise mostly a normal day
After work went out and did grocery shopping and ran some other errands. Held off on exercise due to a nosebleed, haven't had one of those in a long time
Today have dinner with the over 50 group after work
Going to be cooler today, in the upper 80s, will have some storms this evening
