Tweety that sounds like an interesting book

Stars I hope the rest of the week isn't like the last 2 days

Hi Dianah

Ado that sounds like an interesting book

NJ22 some of the people in book club use the Libby app

Work was not bad yesterday, although it got stressful at times by the afternoon things had settled down quite a bit

The car was a distraction throughout the day.  Walked to the rental car place during lunch so I could do my grocery shopping and book club.  Then was emailing with the body shop, will take 3-4 days instead of 2-3 and the cost increased by more than 50%.  Back and forth with the body shop via email about whether to use insurance, but we decided it was too late in the process, so I told them to just go ahead

Thankfully I recalled I had money left over from when I bought the car, so that will help so my car repair fund won't take too big a hit.  Still, spending a lot of money, even when I know I can afford it, always causes me irrational anxiety

Rest of the day went well, got the grocery shopping done and went to book club

Today will return the rental car, as I shouldn't need to go anywhere until Fri, and hopefully the car will be done then

Going to be pretty warm today, I think it will get up to 90 or so.  Summer heat is definitely here

Good morning!

Spending money in large amounts I don't think is "irrational anxiety" even if we can afford it.  It's stressful.

My irrational anxiety is that sometimes I feel like that broke 25 year old living paycheck to paycheck and struggling.  That's why I worked all those weeks of overtime recently when I really didn't need it, but after paying car and flood insurance, my funds diminished. It's all padding but I am contemplating spending some of it.

I'm feeling irrationally down today for some reason out of the blue.  Started when I spilled something and yelled at myself for being a stupid idiot.  LOL.  I'll listen to some music and snap out of it I'm sure.  Today is chore day.  Cooking, cleaning, laundry.

Good Morning (I hope) ~

It's 11:20 AM, I'm up and dressed and Momo has been fed. As soon as I finish my coffee. I will go in to wake up Nannie and get her dressed, and see what she's done with her wrist brace. Amazingly enough, I actually slept well, although I went to bed around 2:30 AM. I woke up at 9 AM with the gypsies playing in my hips, but I took my AM meds and went back to sleep, and now the gypsies are quiet. And at least I don't have to take Nannie along on my trip to the bank, as BiL will be here to keep an eye on her.

You can be sure I will be back here later! Meanwhile, hope everyone's day goes well!

It's sooner, rather than later~

Nannie left her wrist brace alone and it was intact this morning! She's got one heck of a bruise on that hand. But during the night she got up and put on a jacket, and took off ALL of the bottoms, so she can 'function' in spite of the wrist problem! And she says it doesn't really hurt terribly, so YAY! She has an appt tomorrow with the orthopedic guy, and SiL will be taking her to that. Maybe, just maybe, SiL will take Nannie over to her house to hang out? One can always hope.

Oof, I am tired. And sore. I worked at the demo garden this morning. It started out lightly raining, and then stopped and warmed up and got a little steamy. I did a lot of bending over and my back is not happy. But I promised dh I would plant his green beans, sunflowers, and zinnias, so I did that too. Now I need to go back down to the demo garden to water the plants that are on the self service table, for people to purchase. I don't think they need water, but I said I would do it, so it will take me just a few minutes.

I wonder what an ortho guy (or gal) will do different about Nannie's wrist? Especially if she has a history of destroying casts and splints? And it's not painful? Good, the SiL is taking her.

Joe, that is a little frustrating with the added costs and time of fixing your car.

I have so many chores to do. But my back says not today. dh is gone for a week, so it's not like it going to get messier. He has gone to Omaha with eldest ds to watch the College Baseball World Series.

Dianah, btw there is no bowling this Summer due to lack of interest in a short Summer league.  We start up again late August.

I'm working the floor tomorrow with someone that is 40 years younger than me in charge and I oriented her when she was a new grad.  Feeling old.  LOL

Thanks for the word, Tweety!  Bet you can run circles around her, still...

WHEW!

Waiting for the new credit card (with 0% interest for 21 months) to arrive; they say "it's in the mail". Got a personal loan from the bank. Will use both to pay off the large balance of Master card that has all that interest on it. Payments for the loan and new card will  automatically be withdrawn each month so I don't have to keep track except to subtract them from the checking log. Payments for both combined will be just under the total  amt I would be paying just for the master card. But I will be paying on the amounts borrowed and there will be no ultra-high interest to worry about.

My personal banker is a whiz! She discovered that the car payments were put in a 2nd account by the bank, to be sent to the dealership. Well. When I took hubby's name off our accounts, the car payments only went into the second account that I didn't even know we had!  And so....the last payment made was in January! I don't know if they have been trying to get in touch with hubby, but his phone # has been cancelled. Never have rec'd anything from them in the mail. Called the dealership today but no one answered in their financial office; I left a message, but have not heard back from them. I wanted to explain what had happened and why, and say I want to pay the 6 months in full, so they won't re-po the car! Now I'm scared that it will happen before I can get it straightened out. EEEK!

Anyway, I may drive to the dealership tomorrow to make payment for those 6 delinquent months. I do NOT want to be freaking out about the possibility for them to come get the car! I have parked it behind the house....not hiding it, but I want to see or hear them if they DO decide to re-po. With the car under the carport, on the side of the house with no windows, I couldn't see. I know if they have rec'd an 'order' to re-po, nothing I can say will make any difference. I just don't want to go beebopping out to the car and find it GONE!  I am also hoping that maybe the car dealership would be willing to waive some of the late fee(s) due to the weird circumstances.

My personal banker said she'd even balance my checkbook once this financial )#$%^ is straightened out. Then maybe I won't be getting into overdraft all the time!

One last thing, was kinda funny: Nannie had been sleeping HARD all afternoon, and at about 5:30 I said ""Nannie!" and she cracked her tired eyes open, so I said, :"Do you want to eat supper now?" and she frowned and snapped at me, saying, "I JUST ATE A CRACKER!" and she went right back to sleep. It made me laugh! (I did give her supper around 7 PM)

Ooooookay, all for today!

No Stars, your relief is palpable, and I am so glad for you, that you are getting a handle on the finances!

Today I got $$$ out to pay the house-sitter, and then did some grocery shopping, then once I got home I cooked some tomato soup and a "deconstructed cabbage wrap," basically it's layers of cabbage, a "meat" mix (onions, veggie-meat, garlic, paprikas, thyme, S&P, and riced cauliflower), and mozzarella cheese, -- layered twice, then baked X 40 min.  Once the two meals cool down, I will blend the soup and prepare it for freezing.  Then will cut the casserole into squares, put each in a piece of foil, and in a plastic bag -- or something, so I can freeze the squares.  Tomorrow I will make a couple spinach/mushroom quiches.  We will take bread (my low-carb bread) and lunchmeats and cheeses, PB & J, etc. for other meals.  There will be vendors at the festival, on the weekend, so we can get a break from my cooking.  Oh, and I plan to bring things to make a taco salad ("haystacks") too.  So, we will have choices (and, low-carb choices for me).  I have stocked up on popsicles for dh, and my low-carb fudgesicles for me !

Didn't sleep well last night -- mind full of preparation and songs.  I hope I sleep better tonight.

Have a good evening!
