Hi Ado

Got back yesterday afternoon.  Had a good time, though I didn't do much in the way of trails because they had a lot of steps and were causing my knees to ache.  I was smart this time, and took some time alone and also only stayed 2 days instead of 3.  Had a good crowd there.  Was talking with one of my cousins, we might do a brief trip to Milwaukee sometime this year.  Weather stayed fairly nice, though air quality was bad yesterday 

Once I got back I got unpacked and did laundry and went out to dinner with the church group

Got up a bit earlier today in case there are a lot of emails and documents and such to go through at work.  Will do the grocery shopping tonight

Will be another day of bad air quality, and fairly warm too, in the mid 80s.  Chance of rain starting tonight and for the next few days

Good morning. I felt like I was busy yesterday, but don't feel like I actually accomplished anything. I went shopping for a stretchy skirt for sis that would be easy to wear over her horribly swollen leg and brace. I couldn't find one, but I got her a stretchy tank-top dress. She had yet another prescription to pick up, so I got that plus the diet coke I forgot the other day. I delivered those, and we talked a little. A friend got her a hand-held shower attachment , but I didn't have a wrench to remove the old one. I'll bring that today and switch it out. She has a PCP appt this morning, then a home health nurse visit. In the afternoon, I have a massage appointment. I picked up Angus's ashes yesterday, and I'm missing him so much. 

The weather is clear, and on the cool side, low 70s.

Joe, glad you had a decent trip.

I have a friend in Minnesota that wears an N95 when he takes his walks due to bad air quality.  Crazy.

J22, I'm sure your sister appreciates what you're able to do for her.

Stars, I hope you get up earlier enough to treat yourself. 

I got my car insurance bill for the next six months and it rose $120.  Ugh.

I spent an hour and a half with my financial advisors yesterday.  A lot of that time was spent on idol chit chat and politics.  Fortunately the three of us being gay liberals are on the same page politically and I love talking politics.   My year-to-date performance on my funds are doing okay this year.  Even though I upped the estimate from what I predicted I would need to make ends meet they still says I'm on track to meet my goal and have that income at age 68 and take SSI at 70.  He even said age 67 was a possibility but age 66 was iffy but doable if I lowered my expenses.   He said he's not worried about inflation being a long-term problem and that soon we'll be back at 2% a year inflation.  Nothing more to think about but just keep doing what I'm doing.  

One part of the planning was "do you plan to stay where you're living".  It's interesting because this past six months, I've had discussions with my best friend that for the first time in my life I'm considering not retiring in Florida due to political climate under DeSantis and the state house and senate.  But DeSantis won't be around forever and this area still remains very liberal where I live, so we'll see.  The other thing that would make me move is the high cost of insurance.  I can't see an end to the rise in prices.  One of the advisors said their homeowners doubled twice the last few years.  My advisor said he and his husband just bought a place in Tacoma, Washington of all places and will retire there within two years.  I would not go somewhere with that kind of weather but I'm thinking somewhere like Palm Springs.  He said he looked into Palm Springs and found it cheaper to live there than here even with taxes.   But I'd miss the beach.  But really, like I said, nothing to do right now.

I get a daily email of what mail is coming, always junk, and the last three days haven't gotten any mail and had a letter to be picked up, so I stopped by the post office to check it out and they called my carrier and he said I got mail today.  Go figure.   It was no problem as I was out getting a haircut anyway.  

I slept better last night.  Off today and will do some cooking and cleaning and go to the gym.

Nothing much to say , but it's okay. I'm doin' 'alright,alright,alright.' Not as 'cool' as Michael McConaughyounagyheyeyyeyeye ----or however his name is spelled You know...."The Lincoln Lawyer" actor.

Braves won another ballgame over the Twins, this afternoon. I think there is no Thursday game being played, but I know there is one on Friday.

Tomorrow is another day....
