I woke up sometime during the morning because I felt COLD, even under my down blanket; had to get up and go into the other room to grab another blanket; then I touched up the thermostat (it horrified me to do this) to 75 degrees, and I went down to the den to turn the electric fireplace on to throw off some heat into the house. Man, I mean, it almost seemed cold enough that you might see your breath making clouds. I was afraid the heat-pump might have died overnight, but it hadn't. After Momo and I crawled back under the covers, it still took a few minutes to even approach getting warm. I don't know how low the outside temp got last night, but it sure affected me inside. Anyway, the house feels better now. I could easily go right back to sleep now, but I ain't a'gonna do it. I need to go to the kitchen and get me another cup'o'java, as I need a 2nd jolt of caffeine!
I was scanning through the news feed and some photos....there is one showing tRump ducking under Melania's hat-brim to attempt to kiss her. In that photo, there were several of tRump's bald spots showing, which are usually hidden under his carefully arranged bouffant mane. Maybe he will pardon his hair-dresser, or maybe he will send that person back to their country of origin. Seeing tRump with deflated hair was an unexpected vision, and a SHOCK! 😳
Don't have any plans for today; it is going to remain around 32 degrees. I may go outside to walk to the mailbox (I didn't check it yesterday). I'd like to take a shower and wash my hair, but I am still trying to work myself up to it, as it requires getting nekkid and the very thought gives me goosebumps. I may have to brace myself and go ahead and get wet all-over-more-than-any-place-else.
If I don't MOVE now, I will close my eyes and be gone for another hour or two, so, here goes.......
PS: The Sr Ctr is closed today. We did get snow, a bit more than a dusting, but not exactly any measurable depth.
Yup, I washed my goosebumps under HOT water, and they disappeared. So, I'm back, clean, dry, and dressed.
While I was in the shower, Nannie came up to the third level of the house and said, "Honey?" I said, loudly, "I'm in the shower; go back downstairs." and apparently she did. Once I got out of the shower and into my bathrobe, I sneaked down and peered down into the den.....and there was Nannie standing at the back door with her hand on the knob. I shoulda let her open the door just so she could feel the 28 degrees out there, but instead, I came all the way down into the den and asked her where she was planning to go. She said she was looking for me. I told her that she went all the way upstairs and I hollered that I was in the shower, but she said she didn't hear me. In fact, according to her, she didn't even go upstairs at all!
I got HER dressed and into the recliner, gave her the meds, which she just could not get swallowed, in spite of slow, useless step-by-step instructions. Finally, after 8 ounces of juice, they finally went down. Guess this is just another stage of dementia, and I'm going to have to adapt. Oddly, she doesn't complain about how the pills taste. She even sometimes CHEWS them. Ick! I will start tomorrow, grinding the pills up and mixing them in something. (If I remember to!) Anyway, some good news is that her 1/2 Lexapro she took this morning was a FAT half, and she is already starting to nod off. I love it when that happens! She is not conked out, though, because her mouth is still closed, and periodically she cracks open one eye to look over here at me, and then shuts it real fast when she sees me looking at her. I've been with her 8 years now, so I KNOW when she is asleep or awake . I sound like Santa Claus! And *I* know when she's been bad or good, as well!
Yeh, welp, HO-HO-HAH ! Laydah, yez guyz!

Another cool day, mostly overcast. I made it to the gym, finally. I've been using the rowing machine for cardio. I dislike treadmills and the bikes are uncomfortable and hard to adjust. and I did some leg and arm stuff.
I did some pruning out in the yard. I told the bulbs that are popping up to go back to sleep, it's too soon! And I watched a webinar about cardiomyopathy. Don't I know how to have fun.
We tied for fifth place last night. We may skip next week, the suggested categories seem to focus on sci fi, and I'm just not a fan.
Stars, have you tried sliding the pills down with applesauce? But I guess, if she takes them crushed, that might be the easiest.
I dunno, if the choice at work is super slow, or super busy, I'd would choose super busy, but thats just me. I prefer time to go quickly, and I feel more accomplished at the end of the day.
No Stars In My Eyes said:dianah~ They call it something other than 'slime' so it doesn't sound as disgusting. I can't remember it, I should have written it down. Oh well!
j22~ It's nice to know that that weird product is helpful to someone!
It's called mucin. Thats sounds a lot like mucus, so I don't know that makes it better. Yeah, she Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, so when it gets triggered, she breaks out in hives, sometimes gets short of breath, and will get terrible abdominal pain. She takes huge doses of claritin every day, but when she gets triggered, only Benadryl and prednisone will stop the symptoms. Anyway, she is very cautious about what she eats, and puts on her skin.

Stars glad that you've had the chance to decorate and make the place your own
Hi TMB

Ado I hope you feel better
Tweety congratulations on the raise and getting the schedule you wanted
Work was busier than I expected, lots of emails and documents and a fair amount of stress, although I tried not to let it get too bad. Was nice finally having some more work to do. Had a meeting and a coworker off which made things a bit more complicated than usual. Did get it all done by the end of the day
After work went out to do the grocery shopping, then had a meeting at the library. Was very cold, some of the coldest weather this year
Today should be a pretty ordinary day, work may be a bit busy but not as much as yesterday. Nothing going on after work except exercise
Will be quite a bit warmer than yesterday too, up to the mid 20s, will get some snow
