Good morning.
Ado, I saw some scenes of people trying to drive in Oklahoma in the ice. What a mess.
Cold front is coming our way and the heat will be clicking on tonight. I've enjoyed our warm spell. 90% change of rain as the front comes through. Nothing like the misery of snow and ice.
Nothing much on the agenda. Got up at 5:10AM because I was done sleeping. Need to go to bed early tonight so no nap.
Nothing like the snow and ice predicted.....because so far, there is NOTHING. Now the weather reports are saying maybe it will occur this afternoon, tonight, or tomorrow. Nothing like a good weather report of: "Maybe". I reckon there will be no snowball fights, sledding, or building snow-people! Ohhhh well!
SiL texted me that she has put food on the front porch for us. It is cold enough outside that I don't feel any pressure to run down and get it right away, because there is no sunshine, and 34 degrees will be our high temp today. I am still relaxing in bed, trying to avoid the 'start' of Nannie's day, but I can tell that the time for getting up is drawing closer and closer, because my coffee is now cold.
ARGH. Nothing to it but to do it, however reluctantly. Sheesh!
It was 3 degrees this morning but now 13 on our way up to a balmy 17. But by Monday we are expecting a high of 70 so I guess I can't complain. At least Twin A should get to go to work on Monday. He and I made a pineapple upside down cake last night. I had bought canned pineapple rings at some point and that seemed like a good way to use them. Hubs was on the phone with his son when I gave him a piece and Stepson's comment was "Yuck!" oh well, to each his own!
Once when I was working on trying to learn Spanish I had a word-of-the-day or phrase-of-the-day app. One day it was essentially "to each his own" but the phrase in Spanish was "cada loco con su tema" (literally, every idiot with his theme). I liked it.
OMG, there are actual snowflakes in the air! It's 55 minutes 'late', but it IS snow.....for now.
The food SiL put on the front porch for us was taken from her freezer and is still frozen, so no worries about it 'spoiling' before I brought it in!
Nannie is sleeping. I am hungry. There are 7 or fewer hours until Nannie is put to bed. This is what my days are like. I yam soooo X-eye-ted. See my smile? No? That's because it isn't there.....or here, either!
But at least right now I don't feel like screaming, so that's something!
Gotta go up to the kitchen and get a snack. My "brunch-time" is about 3 PM, and it is currently 7 minutes after 3, so I better get it before I starve and fall away to nothing!
Hello all!
No Stars, I hope Nannie is behaving herself (I.e., sleeping!) today. Yah, house 'stuff' is never-ending.
Joe, I hope work was uneventful.
Tweety, ugh, to wake up at 5 am.! But you take it all in stride! How low will your daily temps get, with this 'cold snap?'
We have had nice Winter days -- Winter for us, that is! We went to the parks on Monday and it was 74 degrees and nice. Saw two of our fave bands, walked over 10K steps, saw a new-ish band. Once again, as we dressed dapper, we had ppl stop to chat, and a couple times we heard, "I want to be like you when I get old!" Heh. I guess we are looking older these days?? I will be 70 next month, and dh turned 70 in Oct, so yeah, I guess we ARE old, LOL! I was running on 4 hr of sleep, so got tired once we sat down for dinner. We left right after, didn't dawdle in Downtown Disney or return to either park.
Yesterday we spent the afternoon with some friends who live about an hour away. Hadn't seen them in a few months, though she and I text occasionally. We chatted, then did some music, then went to dinner and chatted some more! The drive back home was nicer (read: LESS TRAFFIC!) than the drive out, and we were home in 45 min.
I slept from 1-4, then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Finally nodded off around 8, to then receive a phone call at 9 from a friend, to say HI, reporting on their doings (he is leaving tomorrow for a festival in Arizona; she is staying home with a newly-diagnosed diabetic dog, who doesn't always eat well to cover the insulin dose, so they have to adjust the dose frequently), and also reporting on a friend and his wife --also from the bluegrass circle of friends. She is in the hospital: frequent falls and confusion/dementia? Tests are scheduled. They are in our thoughts a lot, since finding out this information. Man, things can change so fast.
I have some banana bread in the oven, a new recipe that is probably better for low-carb diet -- made with almond flour and coconut flour, and maple syrup. I made a loaf a couple weeks ago, and liked it, though the almond flour makes it a heavier "bread" than a normal (made with wheat flour) loaf would be. Dh liked it, and so did I, despite the heaviness. So, yeah, I have two loaves in the oven.
Have a good evening!

NJ22 hope your MIL can find a pulmonary expert she likes
Work was better, a little busier than Monday but the work was more spread out throughout the day. Decided to take Friday of next week off, given how busy it's been
After work did all the grocery shopping, was very cold indeed. Came home and warmed up with a hot bath and hot chocolate
Today nothing unusual planned except for work. Have a coworker off the next 4 days, hopefully things don't get too busy Feel better this morning than last morning, not sure what that was
Going to be in the mid teens today, but will slowly warm and be in the 30s by the weekend
