Tweety surprised to hear that your fruit tree attracted rats.  Are they common in FL?

Hi Davey

NJ22 wow only 6 days left!  I'd be glad to be done too, given all that is going on

Stars 17 vultures?  I never see them around here, except sometimes turkey vultures

Work wasn't too bad.  Was a bit chaotic once I got back from counseling, though I got everything done.  Though I didn't have time to help others

Counseling was good, I think this is someone I can work with.  We're going to meet again virtually next week.

Need a yoga mat, as I do want to sign up for at least some yoga classes and soon.  One of the things the counselor suggested was building up my social circle,  which I think is a good idea.  And I need to get out more to do that

After work today will do the grocery shopping,  then attend the Ash Wednesday service at church

Going to be a rainy day today in the mid  30s

Good morning!

I just saw on the side on "featured videos" a piece of stool going through the large intestine.  Okay.

Joe, hope you have a good day.  Glad that the counselor is someone you can work with.  I enjoy going to yoga for the instruction (and heat) but I can't say it's a very social activity.  Most people keep to themselves, but it does get me out among people.

J22, only six more days!  I'm sure you'll be glad to get away.  I wonder if OCD worker understands that they aren't going to change their program because of her.  She's the one that needs to adjust.

Stars, you counted the vultures?  I'm not sure I'd know a vulture if I saw one.  We occasionally have eagles and hawks but mostly birds like sea gulls and herons.  My late dog Billy use to love chasing the herons on our walks.

Yes, fruit rats are a thing.  I'd never heard of them until I moved here.  They would eat my tangerines while still on the tree, I'd go out to pick them and see them half eaten.

Off work today.  Just mopped the floor and will go to the gym.  Going to watch a movie with best friend later.

Going to get my labs drawn here in a few.  I noticed he ordered an A1C and I'm dreading that.  I haven't been eating well and gained some weight, especially around the holidays and valentines day.  My fasting glucose was just over 100 last year so I guess it's something to watch.   Maybe it will be a wake up call to eat better.  I know myself and I eat my stress at work and stuff my feelings and anxiety with junk food.  Bleh

It's going to be in the 80's the next couple of days.   Usually doesn't get this warm until mid to late March.

Have a great day!

The bloodwork came back almost a carbon copy of last years.  With my long standing thrombocytopenia slightly better.  Two exceptions were my total cholesterol jumped 20 points to 156 and my A1C rose to 5.3 from 5.0.  Triglycerides went from 80 to 56, so no trouble there or with anything really.  I can't complain.  TMI and no one cares but I thought I would share since I mentioned it above.

Heading to best friends to watch the movie we rented last week "The Banshees......"

It is SUPPOSED TO BE sunny and 72 degrees or more today, but someone forgot to tell Mother Nature. The clouds are being very stubborn about thinning out and the breeze is actually wind; sunshine seems shy.

Nannie was just telling us she had painted the ducks on her glass so she'd have them if she needed them. Whatever that might mean! She has a whole set of them (jelly glasses) that go with her other china duck figurines.

Hubby is carrying on about the Lasix the doc prescribed. How many people in my life/career have c/o to me Lasix IN GREAT DETAIL? ~sigh~ Nobody I know actually LIKES Lasix!

I guess I'll stop here because hubby is sooooo chatty, (not JUST about Lasix) and we are politely listening. ?

Nannie asked if the Devil arranged falsified  marriages. Now she is talking about a guy riding a bicycle through our yard. And how she could never understand why "they" had her riding around with  "all those others' behind her. And also that she talked to "that guy" (???) who "doesn't look like he belongs here". Incredibly confused and hallucinatory. I guess the only way I can shut her up is go upstairs and haul down the vacuum cleaner down here and run it. Now she is c/o the family that sits out in our side yard. OMG, it is crazy making.

J22, 6 days! 5 now! That's exciting and something to look forward to.

Stars, I'm told there are vultures that nest near an intersection in town but I haven't seen them. I've never taken Lasix, but I can imagine it would be a hassle to be up to the bathroom really often. Still, if it helped get rid of fluid accumulation it would probably seem worth it. ??

Joe, glad you have found a reasonable fit for a counselor. It's always such a roll of the dice to find a good doctor, counselor, etc.

Tweety, your labs look great!

I'm starting to feel some motivation to make some healthier choices in terms of food and exercise. Sunlight and warmth help. ?

It is 73 degrees and sunny but will cool off and get gloomy again with a high of 42 Friday and 50 Saturday.

Hello all!

It's 43 here, "feels like 37."  That's COLD for us!  Storm coming in, should get cold rain the next four days.  Temps to freezing at night.  It's good for the apples at Oak Glen, though!

We picked up the RV today, and dh got a chance to chat with the man who did most of its maintenance.  We need to get new tires later (before our June trip), and he has ordered a new water pump.  It works as-is, but needs this new one.  We have decided, with the cold storm stretching across to Arizona, that we will not leave till Monday for the festival.  Will have to skip the weekend jamming and memorial service.  I have contacted friends who live there, to inform them that we (sadly) won't be there.  Hopefully will see friends at the festival, and can kinda hold a memorial jam there.  We know of at least three other couples who are not going either, same reasons.  It's just no fun to camp with very cold temps at night, especially when we will not have electrical hookups, which means battery will get depleted at night, as it runs the fan for the furnace.  Ours is a three-season RV, not made for very cold winters.

Anyway, as we were leaving the repair/maintenance area, it started to SNOW!!  Yah, it was cold!!  But now we are snugly in the house, as the clouds gather.

Joe, what a relief to find a counselor you can connect with.  Best to you!  Enjoy the Wednesday services.

Tweety, good you enjoyed the Banshees movie.  Labs sound good, too!  You do take good care of yourself, and that is reflected in the labs and how you feel.

Wow, No Stars, lots of confabulationary stories!  What's for dinner??  And, what do you usually like from Arby's?  Asking for a friend ?

Ado, are you affected by SAD?  Stay warm this weekend!

I picked up burritos from our FAVORITE place!  They prepare a "garbage burrito," which is so yummy!  So, I have dinner ready!

Have a good evening!

From Arby's we get the Classic Roast Beef with added bacon. Hubby got Little Caesar's pizza tonight, altho we just had pizza (from Pizza Hut) the other night. I just roll with it (most of the time) when he suggests something for supper. If I pause, he starts suggesting other places and other foods, which makes me crazy. My mom used to do something like that when one of us said, "I'm hungry." She would start listing everything in the cabinets and fridge. "MA! STOP! We know what we have! We already looked in the fridge and cabinets!"  and she would laugh at us, and say, "Just trying to help out...." and we'd respond, "MA-A-A-A-A!" which she 'hated' to be called; she was usually 'Mum' or 'Mummy' by us. She said "Ma" sounded like sheep....

So, it doesn't sound very funny on the page, but it was funny to us, because it happened the same way every time. We found ourselves quite comical at times!
