Good morning!
Nice pics J22. I love the beach.
Dianah, I know you're looking forward to the festival.
Stars, it's frustrating when dogs go out and don't do their business. But it's very good exercise and sniffing is an instinct that an important exercise so you're helping her mental health even if it challenges yours LOL.
We are having a covid rises here in Florida, but we have a surgeon general that is anti-vaccine so he's not mentioning it and most people don't know about it. Still people seem to be normal sick but those with issues like COPD or CHF are the one's hospitalized. There's a new variant. I plan on getting the vaccine probably around October before I travel. We typically have a surge in covid in the Summer and the CDC is following it, but with the budget cuts not sure for how long. Here in Florida any mention of covid, the vaccine or taking precautions is met with virulence.
Anyway, I'm off today and slept in long and hard, waking up only once but was too lazy to get up and pee. I was very fatigued yesterday and hopefully am rested. Debating whether my GI system will let me go to yoga or should I go to the gym with a bathroom close.
Interesting. I decided to do the online check in for my GI consult and it said "abdominal pain". I called and said, I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference because I will see her anyway, but it's for "intestinal infection/prolonged diarrhea". The office said they would change it. About five minutes later they called and said the type of infection I have requires a doctor and not an NP that I was scheduled for but thankfully he can see me Friday. It's the doc that did my colonoscopy screening recently so he knows me and hopefully knows I do not need another colonoscopy.
Anyway, decided not to go to yoga but did some laundry, mopped partially and and cleaned the bathroom. Will do some meal prep and get a haircut and finish up the mopping. Much to do that I've been putting off but still feeling bleh.
bleh
Tweety, my IBS-D has kicked up and I wonder if I should go see a specialist. Personally, I think it is caused by NERVES, as in I feel so frequently irritated and unhappy about the length of my situation here. BUMMED OUT, one might say! And relief is NOT spelled, as the ads say, r-o-l-a-I-d-s.
I was awake a lot last night; we had tremendous thunderstorms and rain from about 3 AM until 6 AM and beyond. I had gotten up at 6 to unlock the doors and turn on the lights for when SiL comes this morning. I heard her come in, and then I was Zzzzzzz unconscious until about 12:30 PM. Now I am awake, in some fashion, and contemplating my to-do-list. Only thing I've done so far is put Nannie's clothes and towels from the washer into the dryer. And yes, I am sooooo looking forward to more folding and putting away clothes and towels later. .......AND, of course, washing the dishes and emptying the wastebaskets.
Hey, here is a tad of good news.....yesterday Tinker actually pooped ON a pee-pad on the floor. I was astonished and yes, praised her to the hilt for doing so. I don't think SiL got to take her out this morning because it was still pouring buckets and Tinker does NOT like being out in the rain. She only peed when I took her out after I got dressed, so I guess I should look around the house inside, to see if she has left something else somewhere.....
I'd better dose myself with some more coffee to chase the cobwebs away so that I might get a few things accomplished. Maybe I can wash a few dishes while the coffee is brewing. Plus I have to pick up Nannie from daycare around 4:45 PM, which, at this moment is 2 and 3/4's hours away. And her bedtime? In about 7 + 1/2 hours from now.
My hair looked fairly good last night, but now that I have slept on it, it has some unfortunate sticky-outie places. And the humidity continues to kink the white hairs on my head so they curl in a disorderly manner and leap outward from the rest of my hair. At least they aren't snakes, so anybody who looks at me won't turn to stone. I may have confused and conjoined two different mythical creatures and 'events', but I don't care. I guess you get the drift. anyway.
To the coffee pot, post haste!
What a bad girl.....Tinker did her BM in the 'formal' living-room. At least her stool is solid and easy to get picked up with a paper towel, leaving no stains on the pale wall-to-wall rug.
Good girl....I just washed up ALL of the multiple cups and spoons and glasses, and dog-dishes. Have to put the laundry through a second drying, as it is still damp. I don't usually overload the washer and dryer, but once in a while I do so just to get it all DONE!
Now it is 2:45 PM so I better go on to the grocery store for all the things we go through that disappear in short order. Believe it or not, shopping is one of my least favorite things, especially when I am low on $ munnie $. Should be getting a check from BiL in the next day or two or three, so that will help. Will bring a bunch of extra-sturdy grocery bags to hold in the cold of the cold groceries, because I suspect I will end up getting Nannie before I get to bring the groceries home and put them away.
What a life. As Tweety says...."bleh" and I might add "meh" and "feh".
Was surprised to hear we're starting choir practice back up tonight. I was thinking AFTER Labor Day, and I'm sure the problem is that I didn't pay proper attention. So, we'll try to do that. Next week I'll be in Indianapolis.
Our storms were mild, not even good sleeping weather. I'm finding that listening to an audio book at bedtime doesn't work very well because my mind wanders (or I doze off) and then I don't know how much I missed. It was worth a try. Back when I had a commute to make, audio books were handy. Some friends tell me they listen to them while doing housework, etc. but I don't know... I'd rather have music for those times!

Stars hope you can get another caregiver soon, sounds like she's no going to be around for a while
NJ22 thanks for sharing the photos
Dianah glad she seems to be back to normal
Tweety glad you got out of jury duty
Ado I hope there's no outbreak there
Yesterday was fairly busy at work. Still covering for the coworker. Got a new case, turned out it was supposed to go to someone else...the coworker I was covering for, so I ended up doing it anyway. But still not crazy busy
Grocery shopping was a challenge, rain with intermittent downpours and thunder and lightning for more than an hour. Spend a fair amount of time waiting in my car or the stores for things to calm down enough to go outside. Exercised once I got home
Today should be fairly normal, have an errand to run and exercise but nothing else unusual
Will be in the mid 80s again, thankfully no rain expected
