Tweety hope the swelling stays away

Stars glad the knee is better, and that your neighbor is willing to help

Ado I heard that both Barbie and Oppenheimer were good

Was a pretty good day at work yesterday, although I did get a new case towards  the end of the day.  Was able to get it done and get out on time

Book club was good, the majority didn't care for the book but we had a good and  long discussion about it afterwards.  We also decided to keep meeting at our current restaurant despite them now requiring large groups to spend at least $25 per person.  We like the place enough that we decided to accept this

Forgot to set the alarm last night but thankfully did not yet up too late

After work today will do the grocery shopping and exercise.  Might try and fit in laundry sometime today as well

Weather is pretty much the same, mid 80s, no rain

Good morning!

Joe, glad you enjoyed the bookclub.  Nowadays $25 for a meal is not that much and easy to reach.

Ado, while I'm not going to see TMNT, it is getting really good reviews so I'm sure might be good.

Stars, I wonder if the lesson here is that since Mrs. Stars has POA there really shouldn't be anything in her name alone.  When my ex father in law started getting dementia his son had to jump through some hoops to get financial control as POA.  My ex paid all his father's expenses and any financial decisions had to go through him.  His father's dementia was such that he was making poor financial decisions and was vulnerable to being taken advantage of.  Actually it was his father's financial advisor that alerted my ex that his father made a huge withdrawal.   It's complicated and requires a sober person.  Good luck with everything.

Oppenheimer was an excellent movie all around.  We both liked it.

I made all the arrangements to visit my parents in November which would be six months since my last visit.  I booked a flight, a rental car, a hotel, and airport parking.  I would save money driving and might do that next time, but it takes too much effort to drive there and then drive back.  But it's also getting expensive and involves me spending more money than I make.

Insomnia was bad around 3:30 and I got up at 4AM and cleaned up the kitchen and bathrooms and went back to bed for an hour around 8AM.  At least things are clean.

Hello all!

Dog is doing better, having longer periods between shorter coughing episodes.  We will likely NOT bring him in to see the Vet tomorrow.  I will drive in to pick up the cat's thyroid meds, though.  Then dh and I will meet a friend at 1pm for an appointment at a CD Duplicating business (she has a new CD out, limited edition, to friends and family only) -- just for support!  Then we will prolly go out to lunch.  Friday is band practice, we will drive to the high desert and solidify the set list.  We play on stage a week from Sunday, at the festival!

Thanks for y'all's movie (and book) reviews!  I don't get out to the movies much, so appreciate reading about your observations and impressions.

I have a couple little errands to run today, then will walk with friend at 7.  It's been just TOO HOT to walk any earlier (and she does her household chores in the mornings, so walking isn't a choice in the cool of the mornings).

Joe, how large is considered a "large group" at the restaurant?  And, does the book club meet that criteria often?  Just curious.

Tweety, I'd like to wake up to clean bathrooms and kitchen too, but I'd NOT like to get up at 4 in the morning to clean them!  Good on ya, though!

No Stars, hope your gypsies and room-mates behave today.

Have a good day!

Knee hurts again, rubbed capsaicin cream on it; hope my AM meds kick in soon. I have to go to Walmart in  little while, so am hoping the knee quiets down. Hubby is in a 'mood' again today, oh joy. ........Later, y'all.

Hi. Had a nice day on the mountain yesterday. It's raining now. We are waiting for it to clear as predicted. Pics from yesterday

Obviously above I meant "Mr. Stars"

Gorgeous pics J22.

Dianah, our "feels like" temp is 106 which is why you won't see me at the beach or outside until sunset.  I remember the evenings being pretty nice when I was in Palm Springs and it was in the 100's during the day.  Enjoy your walk.

nursej22, lovely photos, how nice to BE there!

Got my errands done and picked up the mail.  Just biding my time till I will meet my friend to walk.  I texted, asking if she wanted to go out earlier, but she was tied up and 7pm is the best time today for her.  So, 7 it is!

One of my errands was to pick up some elastic at the fabric store.  I treated myself to some time leafing through the pattern books, then browsing through the fabric aisles.  This store, a JoAnn's, features lots of craft supplies too.  As I don't need any more STUFF in my house right now, taking up a craft doesn't appeal to me.  ? But I will look at and finger the fabrics.

It is 88 degrees now, humidity 44%.  It is predicted to be 81 degrees by 7pm.  Got some high clouds, which is increasing the humidity.  Should be a good walk.

I have been reading about the Maui/Lahaina fires, how awful!  So scary!  Hope they are contained soon, without further loss of life.  Total loss of many businesses is so sad for the owners/workers.  Sounds like it was by 'a perfect storm' of events.

Have a good evening.

Hey ya~ I've been in a cussing frame of mind all day long.

The left knee's been beyond a total beyotch all day! Not the gypsies! It's kind of puffy from when I twisted it when I fell the other day, and colorfully blotched with bruises from where I was scratching it hard during the night . (OMG, I am a sleep-scratcher!) My errand-running didn't help a bit, especially since the gallons of milk are all the way in the back corner of the store. Once while I was walking from my car to a store's doorway, I had to stop three times in the middle of the road to brace my knee with my hands. Using a grocery-cart usually helps when I lean my elbows on the handle, but it didn't help a whole lot today!

When I got home, hubby was asleep up in his bedroom, and Nannie had gone to bed after she slid out of her recliner, using her butt on the foot-rest. I just know it's gonna give, one of these days!

And there were several arguments twixt the inmates today, one in the morning, one after supper, and one during the Braves ballgame (which the Braves won.)  The arguments are, to me, appalling. I hope nobody else hears them, But, apparently it's a family trait on Nannie's side of the family. Her familial circumstances (her dad couldn't keep a job because he'd mouth off so much.) His daughter, my MiL, got the habit, but through her historic/hysteric  constant reminders to one and all: "I was born double club-footed"....so her first 20 years were with the spotlight on her. At the hospital, in her family, everyone felt so bad for that poor little crippled-girl, that they rained down with compliments of how pretty or cute she was, and she just got everything she wanted, didn't matter what it was. Years of this being kept up ruined her and spoiled her ....well, when she tried to get her husband to do or buy something which he did not want to; she could keep up a 'silent treatment' for two weeks if she was in a snit. Hubby tells her, "I saw how you treated my Daddy, always trying to get your own way, and you aren't going to do it to me!" She said, "You don't know A THING!" ...to which he replied,  "I reckon since I lived with the two of you for almost 21 years, I've seen and heard a few things!" He tells me she drives him crazy, especially since she is now getting worse.  It is unfortunate she is essentially disliked by many of the rest of the family, because for sure, her true personality still lingers. As the Alzheimer's S/S are starting to become more hostile, it's not any prettier.

Okay, enough! I've got to go to sleep!
